HFL/LFL. The maximum water level of the pond can be tentatively considered as 2.0 M RL
which shall be verified at site by contractor during detailed engineering.
2.2

APPROACH ROADS
Approach roads from main roads to the coke handling area, control room & substation
shall be provided to suit operation and maintenance requirements. CONTRACTOR
based on the crane movement shall decide the width of the approach road. However
the min. width of the approach road shall be 6.0 m
Any additional approach roads to facilitate crane movement or any other vehicle
movement during construction shall be in contractors scope of work. Crossings for all
services shall be in the scope of work. Any culverts, pipe way bridges,
electrical/instrumentation road crossings, road crossings for U/G pipes, etc. coming
below the main roads and approach roads shall be in Contractors scope of work.
All roads shall be made good while handing over after completion of the construction
activity. Any new roads required during detail engineering shall be in the contractors
scope. Any strengthening/ widening of existing main roads for crane movement for
erection shall be in the scope of the contractor.
Minimum cross section requirements for roads shall be as per the sectional drawing
enclosed with the bid. Contractor to note that the drawings enclosed with bid are
showing the minimum requirements and are conceptual in nature.
Approach road shall be provided by Coke Handling System Package Contractor from
nearest main road for Coke Storage Yard (dome structure), Truck/ rail Loading Silos,
sub-station cum Control Room building, pump sheds for Dust Suppression system, &
Sanitary Sewer pumping station/ system, approach for settling pond, approaches for
Fire Water Monitor around Coke Storage Yard.etc.

DRAINS AND CULVERTS


Design, Supplying & construction of drains (uncontaminated rain water drains &
contaminated drains) and box culverts as per Standards and Specifications.
Proper slope at top of the roads shall be provided for proper surface drainage. Storm
water drain (RR masonry) to be provided around the coke storage yard & buildings,
and shall be connected to main storm water drains. Storm water drains along with box
culverts at road crossing shall be provided on either side of the roads for collection of
surface drainage in stockpile area (including rain water on dome), approach roads,
around buildings etc.
RCC Drain (contaminated with coke) shall be provided with in coke storage yard dome
which will discharge into a pit (pit sizing shall be done considering the flow from water
content of coke (20 m3/hr) and flow from dust suppression system). Pumps (1 working
+ 1 standby) will be provided to recover the contaminated water from the pit and
discharges contaminated water into settlement pond. Covered drains (contaminated
with coke) shall be provided under truck loading silo and rail loading silos, which shall
terminate into a settlement pond. All contaminated covered drains from coke storage
