The core of this role was the Customer Value Chain for the LATAM Group, concentrating on major efficiency improvement
opportunities in our operations. Complexity reduction, standard processes and centralization were major areas of focus.

Initial emphasis was on the Quoting & Order Management slice of the value stream. During the project, we
substantially improved key performance indicators as Service Levels (above 90%) and Cycle Times. Those were
record-high numbers for the region.

August 2014 - July 2016

In this role, I directed efforts to ensure we had the necessary infrastructure for profitable growth, with strong
cost, price and management discipline. At the same time executed a plan to further develop our leadership and
streamline our talent base.
In little over a year, revamped the Corporate Services Group, turning it from a hosting crew, into an integrated
shared services organization. With a continuous improvement approach, during 2015 and 2016, several
programs & projects were put in place, yielding over $25 million in cost reductions and savings.

VP HR - Latin America at Emerson Electric

January 2003 - August 2014

Directly involved with growth programs in Latin America, enabling the integration of various business units
through organizational design, managerial muscle building and competent governance. We tripled revenues to
over $1.6 billion, with a CAGR of +25% annual growth.
Provided overall strategic HR leadership to 18,000+ employees. Responsible for the development,
implementation and optimization of HR programs, through a team of +40 HR professionals operating in Shared
Service Centers, HR Business Partner and as Regional HR Leaders, organized in a matrix structure.
Developed an exceptional talent pipeline, combining programs like: MBA Recruiting, Leadership Academy,
Stretch Assignments for Development and Multiple Career Tracks. Over 500 employees were groomed and
promoted to leadership positions.

H.R. Director - LATAM at Black & Decker Corporation

June 1991 - September 2002

Working both in South and North America, I actively contributed to the penetration of the professional tools market, setting
up startup operations in new markets and establishing a significant footprint across the region. Redeployed & consolidated
manufacturing facilities in Brazil and Mexico, generating multi-million dollar gains.
Redesigned regional organization, implementing the concept of shared services centers, reducing SG&A expenses by $15
million, and improving profitability ($ 30 million turnaround in 4 years)
Redeployed and retrained all sales and marketing employees across Latin America, over a three-year period, doubling sales
productivity (sales per employee).
Planned and executed plant relocation without any disruption of production schedule. This program involved the hiring and
training of + 650 workers in five months, concomitantly with the previous operation shut down.
Designed and implemented ingenious labor contract with breakthrough innovations, allowing the necessary flexibility and
cost reduction to make the new plant internationally competitive. (Overall labor cost reduced by over 50%)
Invited by the Secretary of Labor to contribute in the new labor code design team.
