MASONIC ASSOCIATION

The Chair Lift Project is

progressing. The Association will
review plans for installing 2 Chair
Lifts at the rear of the building. It
will take 2 lifts to get members and
guests from the Dinning Hall to the
Lodge room because there are 2
stairways. Members will be able to
enter the building from the rear door
and use a chair lift to ether ride up
to the Lodge room or down to the
dinning room. The total cost will be
around $12,000.00. The Lodge will
start a Chair Lift Fund and ask
members to donate money to pay for
this project. We are hoping members
will be generous in giving. This
project will give our members who
have difficulty climbing our stairs a
way to enjoy our meetings and
events.
Jan. 25 @ 7:00 Stated Meeting
Mar. 22 @ 7:00 Stated Meeting

Wed like to remind all the brethren attending our Annual Inspection that the
city of New Carlisle has a two hour parking limit on
Main Street. Therefore, we encourage you to park
off the main street on any of the side streets or in
the Municipal Parking Lot on Church Street, one
block West of the Temple. Thanks for your
cooperation.

WHAT DO MASONIC DEGREES MEAN TO YOU?

Masonic degrees are not merely degrees, but are exemplifications of virtues (moral excellence,
goodness), which are often neglected and lost site of in the busy lives we all tend to now live. Each
Masonic degree teaches some specific virtue, and exemplifies it in a way intended to make a deep
impression on those who witness or receive it. Some may spend their entire lives learning the
lessons necessary to make them living stones in the great spiritual temple. Others may, and often
do, learn these lessons in other ways-and so the lessons exemplified in the degrees-lessons of
honesty, charity, justice, spirituality, service, hope, fidelity, truth, religion, faith, love, and
toleration, if understood properly, become part of one's life, evading the more difficult method of
learning by experience.
The Chapter will confer the Royal Arch degree on candidate Anthony (Tony) Owens, New Carlisle
Chapter, and courtesy candidate James Matthew of Shawnee Chapter, Springfield, on Tuesday,
January 31 at 7:00 p.m. Companions of the Chapter are cordially invited to attend and support the
work of the officers.
