ZANE GREY THRILLER AT PLAZA
A Zane Grey film that breathes the atmosphere of the West will be shown at the Plaza to-night. 'Sunset
Pass,' starring Randolph Scott, Noah Beery and Kathleen Burke, is packed with excitement. The story
concerns a
cattlemen's association deputy who finds that the man he is tracking down is the brother of the girl he
loves. The deputy gets the clue to the fact that the man he is seeking is the leader of a band of cattle
rustlers. Then by a trick he gains the confidence of the hunted man and also the love of his sister. The
picture leads from one complication to another, and fin ally an intense climax brings the film to a happy
conclusion. There are many beautiful outdoor scenes in this film, which gives the very liveliest enjoy
ment. The supporting picture is a comedy, 'The Captain Hates 'the Sea,' an all-star film with Victor
McLaglen, John Gilbert, Alison Skipworth, Wynne Gibson, Helen Vinson and Walter Con tolly. The story
deals with a list of passengers aboard ship and the way their lives intertangle. On the ship is an
international crook and his charming accomplice, and a newspaper man and a detective who are on the
crooks' trail. There are other char acters concerned and many mysterious and humorous, situations
develop. THORPE M'CONVILLE'S RODEO
Every seat was occupied for the filial performance of Thorpe M'Cou ville's Wild West Rodeo in Wagga on
Saturday night, and the audience tho'-oughly appreciated the fare provided. One of the outstanding
features oMliis show is the good condition of the horses. Leo Lloyd, Thorpe M'Conville, jum-., and Jack
Agnew again showed that buckjump riding is not by any means a lost art, the performance of Lloyd on
Rise Up being particular ly good. The American cowboys, 'Shorty' Sisco and Frank Maynard were seen to
advantage in steer rop ing, calf tying and bull-dogging. Sisco introduced a novel steer ridin act by starting
off facing the tail of the steer, and, while the animal was bucking,
reversing his position. Maynard prov ed himself very popular by ridin): buekjumpers in both American
and Australian saddles. Thorpe M'Conville, junT., showed Mb versatility by ap pearing in a trick and
fancy rope spinniug act with Kid M'Lcod. Tex Bailey's posing dogs and pony receiv ed well-merited
applause. There will bo -performances in other Riverina towns.
