Zane Grey's "White Death."
The Great Barrier Reef! Hayman Island! Nature's Beauty Spot and Playground selected from all the
South Sea Islands to provide a background for Australia's first romantic comedy-drama Zane Grey's
"White Death" which will be presented at the
Memorial Town Hall, Wingham, next Saturday afternoon and evening. The story of a man's fight
against the Devils of the Deep, revenge against the giant "White Death," ruthless killer and most
deadly of all sharks. And so the film unit landed on Hayman Island, a mountain peak rising
conspicuously from among a score of coral islands ... A virgin isle, if ever there was
one . . . fascinating in its sheer rug-gedness . . . and made picturesque by snow-white mountain goals
and screeching, brilliant-hued cockatoos. "Bar 20 Rides Again," the latest "Hopalong Cassidy"
picture, featuring William Boyd, is the third cowboy drama taken from the works of Clarence E.
Mulford to be brought to the screen in recent times. The film will be screened next Saturday as the
support.
