Background of Scenario
Bookkeeping is just a minor part of accounting in general, but it is a prodigious place to start
particularly for Small & Medium Business Enterprise (SME) entrepreneurs who aspire to sustained
business growth. Bookkeeping is all about keeping and maintaining financial recordkeeping in a proper
manner in the books of accounts. These financial books are very essential to both small and big
business existence. Bookkeeping perhaps look like a great time waster to most SME owners but it is a
silent factor that can either make or break your business. If you really want to propagate from a small
business owner to a big business owner, then you better start taking bookkeeping very seriously.
Task: You are required to write research paper on the topic Empirical Study on Prominence of
Bookkeeping for Development of SMEs: In the Context of Maldives.
Written Deliverables: The paper must be a minimum of 3,000 words (+/- 10%), 2 line-spacing (not
including cover page or reference list). Your paper will be graded on content as well as format (APA
reference style, spelling, grammar, page formatting etc.)
