TCS Comprehensive Capital Analysis

and Review Services

Business Process Services

The Federal Reserve Board's annual Comprehensive Capital Analysis and Review (CCAR) has put the
spotlight on U.S. banks' capital adequacy levels, in terms of their ability to withstand economic shocks.
CCAR is one of the most critical regulatory submissions for U.S. Bank Holding Companies (BHCs), and all
large and mid-size banks heading towards $50 billion in assets need to implement technology and
process frameworks to ensure compliance.
Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) supports BHCs on all aspects related to CCAR submission, including
requirements management, modeling, FR Y-14 reporting, documentation, stress testing, quality control, and
project management. With our deep domain and functional expertise, we make sure BHCs are fully compliant
with the Federal Reserve Board's guidelines.
Overview

Experience Certainty

Complying with Dodd-Frank Act Stress Testing (DFAST) and CCAR

requires significant planning, co-ordination, discipline, and governance
across various stakeholders within a bank. BHCs that have already
performed this exercise continue to find it challenging, whereas new
entrants BHCs that are expected to cross $50 billion within a year or
Intermediate Holding Companies (IHCs) find themselves struggling
with data management, organizational structure, and other reporting
requirements. Failure to meet quantitative (financial metrics on capital
adequacy, risk exposure, liquidity, etc.) and qualitative (process and
procedural standards) requirements can lead to restrictions on capital
actions (such as on paying dividends, raising capital, and so on), as well
as other penal actions.

Our flexible reporting and stress testing framework enables BHCs to

manage the CCAR filing process smoothly, without compromising on
data quality or project timelines.

TCS CCAR Services simplify the entire capital analysis and planning
exercise for BHCs, providing end-to-end support for all aspects of the
regulatory submission process. We offer long-term strategic
advantage, operational flexibility, process stability, and cost
efficiencies by establishing an integrated reporting and stress testing
framework. With our frameworks based on industry leading data
practices, model life cycle management, and business and
technology architecture, we help BHCs transform their CCAR
processes for competitive advantage.
We foster centralized project management through well-defined
governance mechanisms and documentation of data lineage and
process flows. We also provide support for periodic submission of FR
Y-14 schedules. We perform detailed gap assessment, and create
remediation plans, with respect to regulatory expectations. We also
optimize platform solutions like Informatica, Oracle Hyperion, SAS
Data Warehousing, SQL databases, and Wdesk.

Frameworks and accelerators: Our accelerators help customers

manage the CCAR filing process smoothly, without
compromising on data quality or project timelines. These
accelerators include a repository of line-item level data
requirements for FR Y-14 schedules, pre-set established Data
Quality (DQ) rules including edit checks and rules based on Micro
Data Reference Manual (MDRM) codes, rigorous documentation
practices, and in-house developed reporting tools.

Industry domain expertise: TCS has rich experience in

facilitating CCAR submissions for several North American banks.
Consequently, we have developed a deep understanding of
regulatory requirements laid down by the Federal Reserve
Board, the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) and
the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC). We are also
well-versed with the organizational and functional linkages
between various lines of business, the treasury, and the financial
planning and analysis units in a typical bank.

BPaaS: TCS advanced and flexible modules for risk modeling and
stress testing allow banks to adapt to evolving regulatory and
market dynamics. Our experience in developing and
implementing models, particularly for loss forecasting and preprovision net revenue (PPNR) across product portfolios for large
and midsize BHCs, has helped us develop advanced analytical
techniques for modeling and rigorous data management, as well
as other solution accelerators that can be readily customized and
deployed.

Delivery excellence: We offer round-the-clock support services

for your CCAR requirements, helping you boost operational
flexibility and scalability.
