Use
A conditiontable definesthecombinationoffields(thekey)thatidentifiesanindividualconditionrecord.A
conditionrecordishowthesystemstoresthespecificconditiondatathatyouenterinthesystemas
conditionrecords.Forexample,whenyouenterthepriceforaproductoraspecialdiscountforagood
customer,youcreateindividualconditionrecords.
ExampleofaConditionTable
Asalesdepartmentcreatesconditionrecordsforcustomerspecificmaterialprices.The
standardR/3Systemincludesconditiontable005forthispurpose.Thekeyoftable005
includesthefollowingfields:
Salesorganization
Distributionchannel
Customer
Material
Thefirsttwofieldsidentifyimportantorganizationaldataandthelasttwofieldsexpresstherelationship
betweencustomersandspecificmaterials.Whenthesalesdepartmentcreatesaconditionrecordfora
materialpriceordiscountthatisspecifictoonecustomer,thesystemautomaticallyusesconditiontable
005todefinethekeyandstoretherecord.

ConditionTablesintheStandardVersion
Thestandardsystemincludespredefinedconditiontablesandspecifiesthemforeachaccessineach
predefinedaccesssequence.

FromtheinitialscreenofCustomizingforSalesandDistribution,youreachtheconditiontablescreensby
choosing Basicfunctions
Pricing PricingControl Defineconditiontables. Thenselectthemodeyouwanttoworkwith
(create,change,display).
InformationAboutFields
Thefieldsthatyouchoosetomakeupthekeyarecalledthe selectedfields .Thefieldsfromwhichyou
canmakeyourselectionarecalledthe allowedfields .
SelectedFields
Theprecedingfigureshowsthefieldsthatmakeupthekeyforconditiontable005(thetablefor
customer/materialconditionrecordsinSales).Theselectedfieldsshoworganizationaldata,suchas Sales
organization .Thefields Customer and Material definetherelationshipbetweenaparticularcustomerand
material.
FieldCatalog(AllowedFields)
Whenyouselectfieldsforthekey,youmustchoosethefieldsfromthelistofallowedfields.
MakingChangestoConditionTables
Youcanmakelimitedchangestoexistingconditiontables.Forexample,youcanchangethenameofthe
tableortheformatofthefastentryscreensfortheconditionrecords.(Fastentryscreensarescreens
whereyoucanquickly,onasinglescreen,createandmaintaintheconditionrecordsthatrefertothe
conditiontable).
FormatofaFastEntryScreen
Thescreenconsistsofheaderanditemlines.Eachitemlinerepresentsaseparateconditionrecord.The
headerlinesincludethefieldsthataregeneraltoallitemlines.Whendecidingontheformatofthefast
entryscreen,youcandeterminewhethereachfieldinthekeyappearsasalineintheheaderorasanitem
line.
ChangingtheFormatofaFastEntryScreen
TochangetheformatoftheFastEntryscreen,chooseF6( TechnicalView) onthescreenwhereyou
createormaintainaconditiontable.

CreatingaNewConditionTable
Youcancreatenewconditiontablestomeetthepricingneedsofyourorganization.Whenyoucreateanew
conditiontable,youselectacombinationoffieldsfromthelistofallowedfields.Theselectedfieldsdefine
thekeyforthesubsequentconditionrecords.
Beforeyouselectthefieldsforthekey,therearetwothingstoconsider:
Thesequence(orhierarchy)ofthefields
Whichfieldsyouwanttoappearintheheaderanditemareasofthecorrespondingfastentryscreens
ImportantFields
Insales,thefieldsyoushouldtakeintoconsiderationare Salesorganization and Distributionchannel .
Thesalesorganizationisnearlyalwaysusedasacriteriainpricing,becausedifferentsalesorganizations
oftenwanttousetheirownprices,discounts,andsurcharges.Ifyouusethesalesorganizationasa
criterioninpricing,youshouldalsousethedistributionchannel.Ifyoudonotwanttoestablishdifferent
prices,discounts,andsurchargesforeachdistributionchannel,usethefieldanyway.InCustomizingfor
Sales,youcanuseonedistributionchannelasareferenceforallothers(therebysharingthesamepricing
data).
DecidingtheSequenceofFields
Theorderofthefieldsinaconditiontableaffectstheperformanceofthesystemduringpricing.Twogeneral
guidelineswillhelpyoucreateanefficientconditiontable:
1.Ifyouselectfieldsthatareconnectedtothestructureofyourorganization(forexample,sales
organizationanddistributionchannel),assignthefieldsaccordingtothelevelofgeneralapplicability:
Putthemostgeneralfield,forexample,the salesorganization inthehighestpositionandthemost
specificfieldinthelowest.
2.Afterorganizationalfields,placefieldsfromthedocumentheaderbeforethosethatcomefromthe
itemlevel.(Forexample, Customer comesbefore Material )
Afteryouhaveselectedthefieldsforthekeyonthescreenwhereyoumaintainanddefineconditiontables,
chooseF16 Generate togeneratethetableinthesystem.Generationpreparestheconditiontablefor
storingconditiondata.
