Last week we looked at the interactions between Moses and Pharoah in the
attempt to liberate Israel. This resulted in a spectacular display of numerous
signs, wonders and judgements that are also known as plaques. Pharaoh’s
heart was hardened, and he did not budge, and the plagues continued. We
looked at the first seven plagues and will continue with the last three in this Torah
Portion.
One thing we have to keep in the back of our minds is that these plagues have a
future prophetic application and can be overlayed with the plagues found in the
last days as recorded in the Book of Revelation.
This Portion starts with the words; “…Go in unto Pharaoh; for I have hardened
his heart and the heart of his servants, that I might show these My signs before
him”. Go vb “bo” is first used in Scripture in Gen 2:19 where YHVH formed every
creature out of the ground and brought (bo) them to Adam, so that he could
name them. This is related to the very next plague we will look at; the “locusts”
that will “come out of the ground” as well, and they will be presented to man
(Adam), and YHVH will see what humanity will call it.

Call is the word “qara” arq that means “to appoint, call out and to proclaim”.
These creatures that will come out of the ground will have a severe effect on man
and YHVH wants to see if they will call out to Him or curse Him. These plagues
intend to break the hardness of man’s hearts so that they can repent of their evil
ways and call upon the Name of YHVH and be saved.

The Last Three Plagues
Last week we looked at the first 7 Plagues, and this week we will conclude with
the last three Plagues. Just a quick summary of the first 7 plagues before we look

8) Locusts: Moses stretched out his rod over the

land of Egypt, and the YHVH brought an East wind
upon the land, and when it was morning, the East
wind brought the locusts. East is first found in
Scripture in Gen 41:6 where the thin ears blasted
in with the East wind and devoured the fat ears.
This was Pharaoh’s prophetic dream which Joseph
interpreted describing the “Time of Famine” or the
“Time of Tribulation”, confirming the link to the events recorded in the Book of
Revelation, especially Chapter 9, describing Locusts that will come from the
Bottomless Pit. Just like the thin ears blasted in from the East, so will the
locusts blast in from the East and will the Locusts of Revelation appear.

2
East represents the place of origin and the place where YHVH abides
(heavens). West means nations, and to go East means to turn back to YHVH
or repent. This plague comes from the East, just like the “star” that fell from
“heaven,” the “star” that had a key to open the Bottomless Pit from where the
Locusts were released.
Rev 9:1-3 And the fifth angel sounded, and I saw a star fall from heaven
unto the earth, and to him was given the key to the bottomless pit. 2 And
he opened the bottomless pit, and there arose a smoke out of the pit, as
the smoke of a great furnace; and the sun and the air were darkened by
reason of the smoke of the pit. 3 And there came out of the smoke locusts
upon the earth; and unto them was given power, as the scorpions of the
earth have power.

Q – Who is this “star” referred to as “him” who opened is the “bottomless pit”?
There is mention in Revelation of stars that will be cast
down on earth, as well as a Dragon or the Devil that will
be cast down to the earth. This is where a 1/3 of the
fallen angels were cast down with the Devil on to the
earth.
Rev 12:9 And the great dragon was cast out —
that serpent of old called the Devil and Satan, who
deceives the whole world. He was cast out onto the
earth, and his angels were cast out with him.
Connecting the dots between Revelation 9 and Revelation 12 show us that this
“star” that fell from heaven was the Dragon or the Devil who opened up the
Bottomless Pit and released the Locusts upon the earth. The Locusts are non-
other than wicked fallen angels that were bound within the earth, until the time of
judgement, when YHVH allowed them to come out and bring judgement upon the
nations. This prophecy is recorded in the Book of Enoch. According to the Book
of Enoch, there is a Prophecy that the Nephilim or Fallen Angels will be bound in
the earth, under the mountains, for 70 generations after the Flood of Noah, and
will then be released as a judgement on humanity Scientists estimate the event
of the Flood to have happened approximately 2900 BC. If you count 70
generations from there, you come to the year 2009 making this possible from this
date on. (the calculations can be out by couple of years).

Q - What do these Locusts look like and what will the people “call them?”
Rev 9:4-12 And it was commanded to them that they should
not hurt the grass of the earth, neither any green thing,
neither any tree, but only those men who have not the seal of
God in their foreheads. 5 And to them it was given that they
should not kill them, but that they should be tormented five
months, and their torment was as the torment of a scorpion
when he strikes a man. 6 And in those days shall men seek
death, and shall not find it; and shall desire to die, and death
shall flee from them. 7 And the shapes of the locusts were like
unto horses prepared for battle; and on their heads were, as it
were, crowns like gold, and their faces were as the faces of
men.

3
8 And they had hair as the hair of women, and their teeth were as the teeth
of lions. 9 And they had breastplates like breastplates of iron, and the sound
of their wings was as the sound of chariots with many horses running to
battle. 10 And they had tails like unto scorpions, and there were stingers in
their tails, and their power was to hurt men five months. 11 And they had a
king over them, the angel of the bottomless pit, whose name in the Hebrew
tongue is Abaddon, but in the Greek tongue, his name is Apollyon. 12 One
woe is past; and behold, there come two more woes hereafter.
Can these be the “Alien” deception that
Hollywood is brainwashing us with? The “Alien
Agenda” has been promoted through SiFi movies
to make us familiar with “supernatural beings”
and label them as Aliens and not fallen Angels as
the prophecy suggests. What is also interesting
is the story line of each of these Alien movies
depicts Aliens as a “super intelligent superior
race” that has come to destroy the Earth because
of man’s evil and corruption. Then they allow
humans to work with them in exchange for their “salvation”, and the Earth will
be spared. This is the Alien Agenda and is promoted by the Papacy where the
Vatican stated that we have to rethink our salvation about Aliens because they
are a higher form of life that is closer to God and can act as mediators
between man and God.
This makes the Alien Agenda deception very dangerous because as soon as
the Fallen Angels (Locusts) appear, people would have been
“conditioned” by Hollywood to worship and obey these beings
as a superior race called Aliens. They will do anything to help
them in exchange for their salvation. Does this sound like an
Anti-Messiah Agenda? It certainly does.
The “locusts” had a king over them with the name Apollyon.
This comes from the Hebrew Abaddon that means Destroyer
and is linked in several passages to “Seol” or the “Realm of
the Dead”. The Greek name Apollyon is related to the Greek
god Apollo, who was the son of Zeus. He was the god of
music, and he is often depicted playing a golden lyre. He was
also known as the Archer, far shooting with a silver bow; the
god of healing, giving the science of medicine to man; the god of light; and the
god of truth. One of Apollo's most important daily tasks was to harness his
four-horse chariot, to move the Sun across the sky. The picture of the Anti-
Messiah is on a white horse and a bow. These attributes sound very similar to
the attributes of the Real Messiah; the one on the white horse with a sword,
the One that heals, the Word that is the Truth and the Son of YHVH.

4
9) Darkness: Exo 10:22 - Moses stretched forth
his hand toward heaven, and there was a thick
darkness in all the land of Egypt for three days.
This darkness was not only perceived with the
eyes but could be felt. How can darkness be
felt? This word for darkness is found in Gen 1:2
where it describes the time before creation
where the earth was without form and was void.
Then the Spirit of YHVH moved over the face of
the deep. This event is like “Creation in
Reverse,” where chaos existed in darkness within the waters of the deep.
Similarly, we find darkness in Rev 16:10, where the
fifth angel poured out his Bowl upon the seat of the
beast, and his kingdom was filled with darkness
and chaos where they gnawed their tongues from
pain, but they still refuse to repent and cursed
YHVH. The recreation or restoration of YHVH’s
creation involves pain similar to a birth process as
described in Matt 24, talking about birth pains
which these people experienced physically with the
outpouring of the fifth Bowl.
There is another reference to the darkness that will come upon the Earth, this
is found in Rev 8:12. This is where the fourth angel sounded his trumpet, and
a third part of the sun, a third part of the moon and a third part of the stars
were smitten, and a third part of them will be darkened. We see similarities
between Egypt and the Last day judgements on Babylon. In Egypt, the whole
land was darkened except Goshen, and in Revelation, the earth will be partly
darkened as well. What is interesting is that the sun, moon and stars are also
found in the Creation story, and this links back to the Creation story, only in
reverse, as His Creation is being restored through these plagues being
released upon the earth and the heavenly bodies.
The 7th Plague is the “climax” of all the plagues, as we discussed last week.
This makes these events the “Countdown,” counting backwards from the 10th,
the death of the firstborn, to the 9th, the darkness, and then the 8th, the
Locusts, down to number 7, the major earthquake, hail and fire falling from the
skies.
Last week we counted up from the 4th, the flies, then the 5th, livestock, and the
6th, the boils. These three events are related to people being converted, the
fall of the economic system and the mark of the Beast, and the deceiving Spirit
that will try to mislead these believers. Here we count back from 10 to 7, being
the last, makes 10 the 1st step or “day” in the restoration of YHVH’s Creation,
which is judgement and death. The second “day” will be the darkness which is
eternal separation, and the “third day” of His “Recreation” will be Apollyon
(Serpent) and the Locusts (Fallen Angels) that will be cast into the Lake of fire.
10) The Death of Firstborn: The whole of Chapter 12 explains the detail of the
Passover that will be observed as a memorial to the children of Israel from this
day on, throughout their generations, forever. As stated earlier, this is a
reverse mirror image of the events starting from the 10th Plague, going back

5
to the 7th Plague. The 7th Plague is the climax of all the Plagues, and the 7th
day is the climax of Creation, which coincides with the appearing and Second
Coming of Messiah Y’shua.
Matt 24:29-30 Immediately after the tribulation of those days: ‘The
sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will
fall from the sky, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken.’ 30 At that
time the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and all the tribes of
the earth will mourn. They will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds
of heaven, with power and great glory.
In Hebrew, the number 10 and 1 means the same and means completion, this
makes or connects the 10th and the 1st plague, “making a ”cycle” that show us
that this was not the first creation and the first restoration of that creation.
There probably have been multiple “creation cycles” before, but we will only
know for sure when we see him and ask Him one day after this has been
fulfilled.

The First and Last Revelations of Messiah

The Book of Revelation is known as the revelation of Y’shua the Messiah
revealed at His Second Coming. The Book of Shemot (Exodus) is the revelation
of Y’shua the Messiah at His First Coming. How can I make such a statement?
The Book of Exodus, specifically this Torah Portion, explains the first work of the
Messiah as prophetically revealed by the Passover. Y’shua fulfilled this first
Feast, and by doing that, He revealed Himself as the Messiah to those people at
that time who kept the Feast of Passover.
Rev 1:3 Blessed is the one who reads aloud the words of this
prophecy, and blessed are those who hear it and take to heart what is
written in it, because the time is near.
Those who keep everything that is written in the Book of Revelation will be
blessed, and in the same way will those who keep everything that is written in the
Book of Shemot (Exodus), because both Books reveal Messiah within a
particular timeframe according to the Redemption Plan of YHVH. This
Redemption Plan is divided up into seven segments, each a unique step that
reveals more and more about Messiah, until finally, we find the last three festivals
unfolding through the events recorded in the Book of Revelation. Only the 7th
Plague that is called a Plague in Hebrew, the other nine are called signs and
wonders, similar to signs and wonders Y’shua did at His First Coming so that
unbelievers see the “signs and wonders” as recorded in Revelation, revealing the
Messiah when He comes a second time.
The “signs and wonders” in the Exodus were not for Israel (believers), but for the
unbelievers so that the people could be set free. As a result of these “signs and
wonders” many believed and left with Israel, and a mixed multitude left Egypt. In
the same way are the “signs and wonders” or plagues not for the believers, but
for those whose hearts are hardened so that they can see Who the God is Who
is doing all these things so that they might be saved as well.

6
The Sign of the Passover Lamb that is preceded
by the time of cleansing (repent) called the Feast
of Unleavened Bread. This is where all the
leaven had to be taken out of the house before
partaking in the Passover Lamb. Leaven is a
sign of sin, and it means that you have to reflect
on yourself and take sin out of your life. It is a
time of introspection where you have to search
for “leaven” in your life and repent before YHVH.
This will prepare you for the coming of Messiah,
where every aspect of your life needs to be
challenged and cleansed.
Unleavened bread is a 7-day Feast that contains the Feast of Passover and First
Fruits, making the three one seven-day celebration. Before this seven-day
period, you search your house for leaven and during these seven days, you eat
unleavened bread as a reminder that the leaven has been removed from your
life.
You are not supposed to eat “fat bread” of bread with leaven in it, symbolising
that you still allow a little bit of sin in your life. If you do this, you are like King
Agag, the “king of the flesh” who thrive on being self-centred and ruling as king
over his own life. During this seven-day period, we give the ownership of our
lives to our new King, King Y’shua, and He wants us to be sinless before Him. Do
not serve your flesh, but rather serve your new King and Master, Y’shua the
Messiah, Who became our Passover Lamb so that we can be freed from the
bondage of sin and death.

Applying the Blood

Exo 12: 4-9 If any household is too small for a
whole lamb, they must share one with their nearest
neighbour, having taken into account the number
of people there is. You are to determine the amount
of lamb needed in accordance with what each
person will eat. 5 The animals you choose must be
year-old males without defect, and you may take
them from the sheep or the goats. 6 Take care of them until the fourteenth
day of the month, when all the members of the community of Israel must
slaughter them at twilight. 7 Then they are to take some of the blood and put
it on the sides and tops of the doorframes of the houses where they eat the
lambs. 8 That same night they are to eat the meat roasted over the fire,
along with bitter herbs, and bread made without yeast. 9 Do not eat the
meat raw or boiled in water, but roast it over a fire—with the head, legs and
internal organs.
They used a bundle of hyssop as a paintbrush to apply the blood of the Lamb to
the doorpost made up of the lintel, that is the top horizontal part, and two sides
are called “Mezzuzot” or doorposts. The blood was applied to all three parts on
the outside while they went inside and celebrated the Passover with their
families.

7
The way the blood is applied makeup three different Hebrew letters; Chet, Hey
and Tav:

1. x - Chet – Means life – Number 8 that means “new beginnings”. The

Passover Feast is about starting a new life with YHVH where He gives you
another chance and a new beginning.
2. h- Hey – Means Light, Revelation and is the sound of Breath that means
Ruach or Spirit of YHVH. Hey has the numerical number 5 that means
Grace. YHVH bestowed His grace upon us through the Lamb that died in
our place, and we are “covered” and “protected” by the blood of the Lamb
and have access to the Spirit of YHVH Who reveals His Truth to us.
3. t-Tav – Means cross and represent the number 400 that means; “work of
the Messiah”. The “Tav” represents the execution of Messiah on the “tav”
or “cross”, and through His death, we have access to His Life, as
represented by the Chet.
Many of us who are familiar with Christian doctrines and how we practically apply
what we learned is familiar with the concept of applying the Blood of Messiah to
whatever the problem might be. Whether it is for protection or for sanctification,
the Blood is applied through prayer.
Q - Is this the right way to apply the Blood and what does it really mean to apply
the Blood of the Lamb?
Let Scripture interpret and dictate how we should use and apply the blood. The
principle of applying the blood is found here with the Celebration of the first ever
Passover, and this will give us the real meaning of applying the Blood of the
Lamb.
Spiritual Insight: We read in Exo 12:7 that the blood is applied to the sides
and the tops of the doorposts of the houses of those who chose to obey this
Commandment of Celebrating Passover and leaving Egypt. One point I would
like to emphasise is that the prophetic application of this event is known as
the Salvation work of Messiah but is a Commandment as well. Salvation is
not a freebie that is received by someone who sees its benefits, it is
committing to a Commandment through obedience, and the result of this act
of obedience is ultimately Salvation. Before you reach your final “salvation,” is
a process called “conversion” that is a “life-changing” experience of
commitment and obedience and if you refuse to engage in this step, then you
will not reach the final goal of this process, namely “salvation.” This is what
“leaving Egypt” means, leaving your old life of sin behind and taking up your
new life. This is the start of your life-changing journey, where you walk with
Him so that you can become more like Him.

Side Posts is the Hebrew word “mezuzah” hzvzm that means gate post,
doorpost or post. It comes from the root word “zez” that means wild beast,
fullness and abundance. This word is first found in Scripture in Ps 50:11 where
YHVH says all the fowls of the mountains and the wild beasts of the field is His.
This word is associated with the concept of ownership and applying the blood of
the Lamb to your doorpost shows YHVH that you give your life to Him and that
He now owns you.

8
When we celebrate the Passover, we do not slaughter a lamb or applies its blood
because there is no Temple, and in the absence of a Temple, no sacrifices may
be offered up to YHVH.
Q – How do I apply the Blood to the doorpost of my house?
The key is to know that your house is the place where you allow YHVH’s reign
and that implies that His Word will be obeyed in that house. The blood was a
physical sign and everybody who saw the blood knew the people in that house
feared and obeyed YHVH and they gave their lives to Him.
This can be practically applied in two ways. Firstly, you can put a physical
Mezuzah on your doorpost that is a sign that you belong to YHVH and everything
in that house belongs to Him. A Mezuzah is an object that contains a verse that
states just that.
Deut 6:4-9 Hear, O Israel: YHVH our Elohim, YHVH is one. 5 Love YHVH
your Elohim with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your
strength. 6 These Commandments that I give you today are to be on your
hearts. 7 Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at
home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you
get up. 8 Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your
foreheads. 9 Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your
gates.
It is about commitment and having a sign that shows that you now belong to
Him. The other way to show the Blood on your Doorpost is where your life
and actions represent your “house”, and your mouth represents the door to
this house. Everything that goes into your mouth and what goes out of your
mouth must comply with and be shaped by His requirements and what He
expects of us. This tough on two topics, one is about food, relating to the
trees in the Garden, and the other is about the words you speak, that it
be in line with the Word of YHVH.

Top Posts is the Hebrew word “mashqowph” [vqsm that means upper, lintel
and top post. It comes from the root word “shaqaph” that means look, look forth,
look down and appear. It is first used in Scripture in Gen 18:16 where the three
Messengers visited Abraham, they then rose up from there and looked
towards Sodom. The blood applied to the lintel connects to your eyesight, the
things you allow to enter through your eyes. Many sins are committed by
looking at something that is not permitted or looking at something that
triggers envy, covetousness or lust. Eve looked at the fruit and
caused her to eat the forbidden fruit.
The eye caused her to eat, both of these needs to be covered with
the Blood of the Lamb to reverse the effect of man’s fallen state.
Applying or “pleading the blood” to your eyes and mouth indicates
YHVH’s ownership over those areas in your life, and being the new Owner, He
placed restrictions our eyes and mouths through His Commandments. There are
Commandments for what we shall put into our mouths, what He defined as clean
food, and there are restrictions on how you should say, always speaking the truth
and take your neighbour into account. Then there are restrictions on the eyes,
what you should not look at or look upon, which are regulations about moral
living and idolatry.

9
Q – What have we learned from this?
Spiritual Insight: Applying the Blood on the doorposts sealed the Threshold
Covenant between that family and YHVH and this Covenant you accept is
about giving your life to Him and make Him the new Owner (as revealed by
the “side posts” and Ps 50:11). Accepting the Blood of Messiah is the first
step, applying His Blood to the areas that cause man to fall in the beginning,
id the next step to your restoration process that started the day you entered
into this Covenant with Him through the Blood of Messiah, the Lamb of
YHVH.
There is another beautiful picture in the Word that is related to the
doorpost. The door consists of 3 parts, and if you take away any of
the three, the door will collapse. The two doorposts and lintel gives
us a picture of what Faith looks like. This picture is found in Exodus
17 where Israel fought against Amalek and Aaron and Hur had to
hold up the hands of Moses; when Moses’ arms were elevated,
Israel won, when his arms got tired and he lowered them, Amalek
won. This picture of Moses holding up his staff with the support is
similar to the lintel held up by the two doorposts. Through faith, you
uphold the staff (truth) to overcome the flesh (Amalek). Faith is to
be faithful in the truth you received.
The Doorposts and lintel are covered with the Blood of the Lamb, who is the
Truth and the Door that leads the way to the Father. Faith is the word “amunah”
that comes from the root word “aman” that means Truth. The purpose of Truth
and Faith is to overcome the flesh, that normally leads to bondage and sin
(Egypt). All these concepts are related and interweaved and symbolised by the
Door, the Doorpost and the Blood, all leading and pointing to the Father.
The three letters formed by the blood on the doorpost,
Chet – Tav – Hey, spell the word “chatah”, that means,
“heap up and snatch away”. This word is found 4 times
in Scripture and the first time is in Proverbs 25:21-22. “If
your enemy is thirsty, give him something to drink…
and he shall heap (chatah) coals on his head…”. We are all familiar with this
passage where Paul teaches us in Rom 12:20 about the body that needs to be a
living sacrifice and to do good to others, even if they do bad things to us.
Prophetic Application: The context of this passage in Proverbs contains the
two elements seen in the 7th plague, namely water (to drink) and fire (coals
their head). The purpose of the 7th plague is to reveal the Messiah to
humanity as we have seen in last week’s Torah Portion. The 7th Plague is
connected to the 7th Trumpet, and the appearing of Messiah as the Saviour,
Who will come and “snatch away” (gather) His people.

The Lamb and the Gospel

As part of the Passover Celebration, a lamb was
killed and the blood applied to the doorpost of the
home. The lamb was to be eaten by the family to give
them strength to take on their new journey after
leaving Egypt. The Blood took them from death to life,
but the Lamb took them from slavery to freedom.

10
These are the two aspects of the Passover and the Work of Messiah that we
need to be restored from our fallen state. The blood paid for the death penalty
that was hanging over your head and partaking in the Lamb gives you the
strength to overcome sin in your life, the sin that enslaves you. The Messiah
provided both these things when He was executed on our behalf and made His
“Body” available to us so that we can become overcomers.
Y’shua said that we should drink His Blood and eat His Body. These are the
emblems of the Passover meal that symbolises two main things Messiah
accomplished. When we partake in these symbols, we remember what they
stand for and re-enforce them in our lives on every Passover. Let’s look at these
symbols and what they represent.
Blood is the word “dam” ,d that means blood, bloodthirsty and person. It
comes from the root word, “damam,” that means, to be dumb; by implication, to
be astonished, to stop; also to perish:—cease, be cut down (off), forbear, hold
peace, quiet self, rest, be silent, keep (put to) silence, be (stand) still, tarry, wait.
When Messiah shed His blood, He was the Branch that was cut down, the One
Who was silenced and Who did not say a word to defend Himself when He was
falsely accused. He is the One Who perished so that we can enter into His rest.
“Damam” is first found in Scripture in Exo 15:16; “Fear and dread shall fall upon
them; by the greatness of thine Arm they shall be as still (damam) as a stone;
till Your people pass over, O YHVH, till the people pass over, which You has
purchased.”
This verse is 100% in line with the concept of what the Blood represents, and it is
the substance with the greatest value that could be used to purchase or pay for
mankind’s sin so that they can “pass over” into YHVH’s Household, and be His
restored people.
1 Pet 1:18-19 For you know that it was not with perishable things
such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way
of life you inherited from your forefathers, 19but with the precious
blood of Messiah, a Lamb without blemish or spot.

Body is the word “etsem” ,oi that means body, strength and life. It comes from
the root word “atsam” that means strength, mighty, more, increased. This word is
found in various passages including:
Exo 1:7 And the children of Israel were fruitful, and increased
abundantly, and multiplied, and waxed exceeding mighty (atsam) and
the land was filled with them.
Psa 40:5 Many, O YHVH my Elohim, are thy wonderful works which
thou hast done, and thy thoughts which are to us-ward: they cannot be
reckoned up in order unto thee: if I would declare and speak of them,
they are more (atsam) than can be numbered.
When you take the bread during Passover, you commit to partake in the “Body of
Messiah” that has three interpretations. Firstly it means that you become part of
the Body of Messiah with fellow believers and this allows us to partake in the
anointing through the Gifts of the Spirit.

11
Secondly, it means that you will go through the
same things His physical body went through;
namely His sufferings, but through these sufferings,
we will become “mighty” and will “multiply” so that
His Body will not be able to be numbered. Y’shua
wants us to partake in is His “anointing” and His
“sufferings,” so that we can be formed and shaped
like Israel, becoming a great nation within YHVH’s
Kingdom.
Rev 7:9-10 After this I looked and saw a multitude too great (atsam) to
be numbered, from every nation and tribe and people and tongue,
standing before the throne and before the Lamb. They were clothed in
white robes, with palm branches in their hands. 10And they cried out in a
loud voice: “Salvation to our God, who sits on the throne, and to the
Lamb!”…
We find evidence of this “greatness” in the first Assembly mentioned in the Book
of Revelation, the first of seven Assemblies who only received a commendation
without any reproof. The reason for this was because they were persecuted like
their Messiah and this enabled them to stay focused and become strong (atsam)
to overcome sin and the flesh. Their focus was on the One they followed and not
on themselves, seeing how YHVH can bless them, but rather seek how they
could bless YHVH through their obedience and service. Count it all joy wen you
go through trials and tribulations (James 1:2)
Thirdly, partaking in the Bread is another way of saying that you partake in the
spiritual bread which is the Word of YHVH. Y’shua said that we shall not live by
bread alone, but by every Word that comes from the Mouth of YHVH. This Bread
consists of ALL the Words He has spoken, including the Words spoken at Mount
Sinai that we know as the Commandments.
The problem with Believers today is that they believe a half-truth that only
consists of half the Message of what Passover is all about; they accept the
Blood, redemption and forgiveness, but reject the Bread or Word of YHVH as
expressed through His Commandments. If you realise the benefit of partaking in
the Bread / Lamb, you will find that it will give you strength to overcome sin. To
overcome sin is only possible if you partake in the “Body aspect” of Messiah that
was given to us. This is symbolised by Israel leaving Egypt (sin and bondage),
which is His Commandments. With the “Body,” you receive the Spirit as well, that
consists of His Anointing and a New Nature. If you refuse to embrace the Word
and His Commandments or His Spirit, it is similar to not eating the Lamb at the
Passover and not leaving Egypt, but only cling to the “Blood.”
Spiritual Insight: The Lamb had to be prepared well, it had to be roasted
over the fire, not eaten raw, or boiled with added “moisture”. The Lamb
represents the untampered Word of YHVH and needs to be presented in
such a way that it can be well received by the people. It should never be
“raw”, a basic message without any substance, consisting of half-truths and
one-sided promises. It should also not be boiled, soaked in “added” water or
“watered down,” so that it loses its power. It should be roasted over the fire
where fire represents purification. This true message is a message that will
challenge and ultimately change you as you submit to its refining fire.

12
The Lamb has to be eaten in its entirety, not just the head, not just the legs
or the parts you prefer. In the same way, you need to receive the whole
message, not just the parts you like for example salvation, grace, prosperity
and healing. YHVH’s Word should be presented as a “balanced truth”
containing all the aspects we need to be changed into His likeness. This
message will contain aspects of Repentance, Salvation, Grace, Purification
and Holiness, this will lead to a life of Victory, Holiness and a Relationship
with the Father.

Do this in Remembrance…
Exo 12:14 And this day shall be unto you
for a memorial, and you shall keep it a
feast to YHVH throughout your
generations; you shall keep it a feast by an
ordinance forever.
Luke 22:19 And when He had taken some
bread and given thanks, He broke it and
gave it to them, saying, "This is My body
which is given for you; do this in
remembrance of Me.
1 Cor 11:24 And when He had given thanks, He broke it and said,
"This is My body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of Me.
We see three verses that refer to the same event in time; the Feast of YHVH
known as the Passover. Some might be of a different opinion, but everything that
is mentioned in the NT has already been established in the Torah and the
Prophets. It is like building a house where you have to lay the foundation first
before you can put on the roof. The Roof provides the “covering”, but the
“covering” cannot be held up unless it is supported and grounded on the
foundation. If this there is no foundation, the house is built on sand, and when the
storms come (tribulation), then the house will collapse due to a lack of foundation
(Torah).
We find the foundation of the “Last Supper” or “The Lords Supper” or
“Communion” in Exo 12 where YHVH told Moses to keep this Feast as a
memorial throughout their generations forever.
Memorial is the word “zikrown” that means “reminder or remembrance”.
When the Commandment was given regarding the Passover, they are
commanded to remember something; do this Feast with the past events in mind
so that you can know what YHVH has done to set you free from death and
slavery. This means that they had to remember the whole story, starting from the
calling of Moses, right through to the death of the firstborn as well as the event of
leaving Egypt and their journey to Mt Sinai. This is the story of “The Exodus”, the
“foundation” of the Passover that should be remembered and taught to your
children. Yes, there is a Lamb and Y’shua shed His blood to save us, but you
have to know the whole story to understand the totality of Messiah’s redemption
act and what it means in its totality, not just the Blood.

13
When Y’shua and Paul facilitated the Passover Seder with their Disciples, they
both referred to this verse in Exodus, stating that it is a memorial and should be
done in remembrance, with Him being the centre, the Lamb that was slain.
Y’shua and Paul had the table set up with all the symbolism, explaining the
meaning of every symbol as well as its prophetic significance. Most of this is
missing within the sacrament of Communion, except for the bread (Feast of
unleavened bread) and the Wine (Blood of Passover Lamb).
Q – What do we remember when we only drink the cup and eat the bread?
The majority of Believers today do not remember all the aspects of the Passover,
and only focus on the cup with the wine, symbolising the Blood of the Lamb or
the blood at the Cross, which is the “currency” that paid for their sins. Then they
remember His body that was broken for us through the symbolism of the bread,
generally leavened or ‘fat’ bread, not unleavened bread. This memorial is done
“often”, even daily and they do not follow the exact pattern or the timeline, as
stipulated by the “moedim” or Festivals of YHVH. This “remembering” of the
blood and the Body is a very condensed version of the actual Passover and does
not do it justice at all.
Q – Is it practical to celebrate the Passover every day?
The Last Supper is the Passover rehearsal dinner, and the idea of Communion is
taken only from Y’shua and Paul’s short description of this celebration. If Paul
used more verses to describe the Passover Seder, then we would have probably
had a more detailed “Communion sacrament”. Remember everything in the Word
has a foundation and if you want the detail of something mentioned in the NT,
you have to read where it originated from, namely the Torah.
It is not practical to celebrate the Passover Seder every day and “the Lord’s
supper” is only one verse describing the Passover Seder making Communion
“man-made” through “human interpretation”. Y’shua fulfilled the Passover by
becoming the Lamb, He did not fulfil His Word by taking away the
Commandment regarding the Passover Feast. The Passover Feast is one of the
more complex Festivals to celebrate and takes the longest time to prepare and
celebrate because of all the symbolism and the fact that it is connected to two
other Feasts as well (Unleavened Bread and First Fruits). This makes it
impractical to celebrate it “often”; daily or monthly, but rather keep it on its
appointed time as YHVH commanded. Appointed time is first found in Gen 1:14
where YHVH laid the foundation regarding His Calendar and timing of His
“Appointments” with man.
Gen 1:14 And Elohim said, “Let there be lights in the firmament of the
heaven to divide the day from the night, and let them be for signs and for
seasons, and for days and years;
Season if the word “mo-ed” that means “appointed time or festival”, meaning that
the Appointed times, the time YHVH made an appointment with humanity, is
governed and timed by the heavenly lights He created on day 4. Passover is
celebrated on the 14th of the 1st Month (Nissan), and Nissan starts the Biblical
“New year”, making Passover the first Feast on His Calendar. Celebrating
Passover (Communion) daily ignores YHVH’s Calendar and Appointed Times.

14
This is one of the reasons why Jews do not believe that Jesus is the Messiah
because He apparently changed the Law by fulfilling it and the Passover is
changed to Communion. If this is the case, then Jesus would be sinning because
He breaks one of the Commandments where YHVH specifically said that man
should not add or remove anything from His Torah.
Deut 4:2 "You shall not add to the word which I am commanding you,
nor take away from it, that you may keep the Commandments of the
YHVH your Elohim which I command you.
Changing the Passover is doing just that! If you do not keep this Feast on its
Appointed Time, then all the other Feasts will not be “remembered” as well
stripping so much insight from YHVH’s Word. This is the one reason why it is not
good to follow a sacrament instead of a Commandment. You worship the one
you obey, are you obeying man’s interpretations or YHVH’s Commandments?
The early church celebrated the “Last Supper” or Passover as recorded in Paul’s
letter and use it as guidance together with what is recorded in Luke where Y’shua
celebrated the Feast with His Disciples. Most of them were familiar with the
Passover, and that is properly why there are not a lot of detail describing how this
Feast is to celebrated but rather interpret its prophetic implication revealing the
Messiah.
To bring the Two Sticks together, both Camps have to do introspection to find out
which of their “sacraments” and “traditions” are Scriptural and which are man-
made. This is the “battle of the Passover” with the Jewish Seder on the one side
and the Christians’ Communion on the other side, both full of man-made
traditions that YHVH despises. Keep to the Word and only do wat He asked us to
do. Let man be proven wrong and let YHVH’s Word be true. We will celebrate the
true Passover one day when Messiah returns and when He leads His Passover
Seder.
