Interest in alternative investments has never been stronger, but the paths
to opportunities in this industry are not always clearly marked. Sponsors
for Educational Opportunitys (SEO) Alternative Investments Conference
promotes diversity by providing a day of education, access, and career
development for young and experienced professionals who are traditionally
underrepresented in the alternatives sector. The Conference includes panel
discussions and networking activities with sector leaders, emerging managers,

The Conference is part of the SEO Alternative Investments Program, which
builds upon SEOs 50-year history of providing talented and motivated young
people from underserved and underrepresented communities access to

SEOs Alternative Investments Fellowship Program (AIFP), launched with
Kolhberg Kravis Roberts & Co. and TPG Capital, combines workshops,
training, and mentoring to educate and prepare underrepresented first- and
second-year analysts as candidates for positions in private equity and other
opportunities within the alternative investments sector.
CCMP Capital Advisors LLC and Pantheon Ventures (US) LP have joined
SEOs Alternative Investments Undergraduate Program to identify talent for
their undergraduate summer analyst programs, providing additional pathways
for talented individuals to gain access to the industry.
The SEO Alternative Investments program has grown with the critical guidance
of SEOs Limited Partner Advisory Council and the support of the Private Equity
Growth Capital Council.

Kelly M. Williams Managing Director and Global Head, The Customized Fund Investment Group
Kelly Williams is Managing Director and Global Head of the Customized Fund Investment Group. CFIG manages over $30 billion of client
commitments to private equity and real estate funds, and specializes in designing tailored portfolios for investors. In addition, CFIG provides
portfolio management services for over $130 billion of client commitments to private equity. Ms. Williams was an Executive Director with Prudential's
private equity group where she founded CFIG in 1999. Ms. Williams was previously an associate with Milbank, Tweed, Hadley and McCloy, where
she specialized in global project finance.
Ms. Williams graduated magna cum laude from Union College in 1986 and received her JD from NYU School of Law in 1989. She was elected to
the YWCA Academy of Women Leaders in 2007. She is a member of the Metro Chapter of YPO and serves on the Board of Trustees of Union College
and the Robert Toigo Foundation. She is the founding board chair of the Private Equity Women Investor Network. Ms. Williams serves on the Board of
Directors of the Council of Urban Professionals and the advisory board of the Association of Asian American Investment Managers. She is also the
chair of the Sponsors for Educational Opportunity (SEO) Limited Partners Advisory Council.
Ms. Williams was recognized in 2011 and 2012 by American Banker magazine as one of the 25 Most Powerful Women in Finance and received the
2012 Woman of Power and Influence Award given by the National Organization for Women.
Tom Tull Interim Chief Investment Officer, Employees Retirement Systems of Texas
Tom Tull, CFA, is the Interim Chief Investment Officer at the Employees Retirement System of Texas. Previously, he was a founding partner of
Gulfstream Global Investors, Ltd. which was sold to West LB of Germany in January, 2001. Gulfstream Global was an SEC registered investment
adviser specializing in international equity management.
Mr. Tull is the former Director-Employee Benefit Fund Investments for The LTV Corporation and also served as President of Western Reserve Capital
Management, Inc., the pension asset management subsidiary of The LTV Corporation. In this capacity, he was responsible for the investment of a
$1.2 billion retirement trust. This responsibility included the management of a $90 million international equity portfolio and the management of the
outside investment manager relationships. His investment career began in 1971.
Prior to joining LTV in February 1983, Mr. Tull served for seven years as Director-Pension Investments of The Cleveland-Cliffs Iron Company. He
managed an in-house pension fund, introduced international investing and other diversification policies and performed a variety of corporate duties.
Mr. Tull received a B.S. in Finance from Ohio State University, an M.B.A. from Xavier University and is a Chartered Financial Analyst. He is also a
member of a variety of financial organizations.

Mina Pacheco Nazemi is a Partner of Customized Fund Investment Group (CFIG), which manages over $30 billion of client commitments to private eq-
uity and real estate funds, and specializes in designing tailored private equity portfolios for investors. Pacheco Nazemi is on the investment com-
mittee and also works on all aspects of the business from investments, client management to business development. Pacheco Nazemi and her team
work on a number of different client mandates but also invests for clients that have a specific interest in investing in direct / co-investments, emerging
markets, emerging managers (women and minorities managers or companies) and the underserved sector.
Pacheco Nazemi graduated with Honors from Stanford University and also has an MBA from Harvard Business School. Pacheco Nazemi sits on the

Les Brun is a Managing Director and Head of Investor Relations in the New York office of CCMP Capital Advisors. Prior to joining CCMP, Mr. Brun

was, and remains Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Sarr Group, LLC, a diversified holding company for his family investments. Mr. Brun also
founded and was Chairman Emeritus of Hamilton Lane, the worlds leading Private Equity advisory and management firm, focusing on the firms
strategic initiatives and direction, as well as its investment decision-making through his participation on the firms Investment Committee. He was also a
member of the board of directors of the Richcourt Group, a Hamilton Lane company specializing in hedge fund of funds management.
Mr. Brun is currently Chairman of the Board of Directors of Automatic Data Processing, Inc. (NYSE ADP) and Broadridge Financial Solutions, Inc.
(NYSE BR). He also serves on the Board of Directors, Audit Committee Chair, of Merck & Co., Inc. (NYSE MRK), and NXT Capital. In addition, he

With over 30 years of investment banking, commercial banking and financial advisory experience, Mr. Brun began his career with Chemical Bank
in Seoul, South Korea, where he was Assistant Vice President and Chief Credit Officer, followed by Managing Director and cofounder of the investment
banking group of Fidelity Bank in Philadelphia, Vice President in the Corporate Finance Division of E.F. Hutton & Co. in New York, and Vice President
of Lloyds International Corporation.
Mr. Brun holds a B.S. from the State University of New York at Buffalo, where he has been recognized as a Distinguished Alumnus, and is a former
Trustee of the University at Buffalo Foundation, Inc. Mr. Brun is also a former Trustee of The Episcopal Academy in Merion, PA. He is a Member of

Frank Baker is a Managing Director and a Founding Partner of SIRIS Capital Group LLC (Siris), the predecessor fund of which was formed in 2006.
SIRIS is a middle market private equity firm focused on deep value, control equity investments around special situations in the telecom, technology
and technology-enabled business service sectors.
Prior to forming SIRIS, Mr. Baker was a Managing Director at Ripplewood Holdings LLC (Ripplewood), a global private equity firm. Mr. Baker started
his career in investment banking at Goldman, Sachs & Co. in the Mergers and Acquisitions Group.
Mr. Baker has an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School and a B.A. from the University of Chicago.
Samuel J. Boyd, Jr. Chief Investment Officer & Director of Program Development, U.S. Small Business Administration
Samuel J. Boyd, Jr. joined the U.S. Small Business Administration, Investment Division on June 4, 2012 as the Chief Investment Officer and Director
of Program Development. In this role, Mr. Boyd is in charge of managing the initial assessment of SBIC applicants and preparing the applications
for presentation to the SBIC Investment Committee. This critical phase of the SBIC applicant review process entails analyzing all Management
Assessment Questionnaires (MAQ) to determine SBIC program fit regarding team, strategy, capital structure and track record. He is also responsible
for creating and executing SBICs outreach strategy, particularly as it pertains to engaging institutional investors and underrepresented investment
funds. Mr. Boyd is a voting member of both the SBIC Investment and Licensing Committees.
Immediately prior to joining the SBIC program, Mr. Boyd served as the President & CEO of the National Association of Investment Companies
(NAIC), the private equity trade association for firms that represent or invest in the underserved market. Mr. Boyd has an MBA from the Darden
Graduate School of Business at the University of Virginia and a BS in Civil Engineering from North Carolina A&T State University.

Thurman V. White, Jr. Chief Executive Officer, Progress Investment Management Company LLC, USA
Progress Investment Management Company, LLC is an institutional asset management firm based in San Francisco, California. Progress is a U.S. leader
Moderator
in identifying and working with newer and smaller boutique investment managers, known in the United States as emerging managers. Progress works
as a multi-manager investment specialist. The firm manages $7 billion in assets for a blue chip list of U. S. institutional investors including public plans
like CalPERS, CalSTRS, the New York City Pension plans and other corporate plans and foundations. Progress serves as a manager of managers offering
strategies in various asset classes including global and international equities, U.S. equities, fixed income, private equity and hedge fund strategies.
As Chief Executive, Mr. White is responsible for the vision and values of Progress, as well as providing overall day-to-day leadership. He chairs
the Progress board of directors and Management Committee, and he serves as a member of the Investment Committee. He has held a variety of
senior leadership positions with the firm during his 20+ year tenure at the firm.
Mr. White has had previous line management and operating company responsibility as well as public policy experience at the state legislative and
federal agency levels. He holds an undergraduate degree in public and international affairs from the Woodrow Wilson School at Princeton University,
a masters degree in communications from Stanford University and a law degree from Boalt Hall School of Law, University of California, Berkeley.
He has been a member of the California Bar since 1981.

Barry M. Miller Head of Private Equity, New York City Retirement Systems
Barry Miller is the Head of Private Equity at the New York City Office of the Comptroller. In that capacity, he manages the Private Equity program
on behalf of the New York City Retirement Systems (NYCRS), a $15.0 billion private equity portfolio with commitment across 150+ funds. Investments
include buyout, mezzanine, distressed, secondary and special situation funds. Mr. Miller serves on the LP Advisory Boards of 40+ private equity
funds. NYCRS overall assets are in excess of $130.0 billion.
Prior to Mr. Millers tenure at NYCRS, he co-founded Nottingham Capital Management (Nottingham), a private equity firm focusing on the acquisitions
of private equity limited partnership interest in the secondary market. At Nottingham, Mr. Miller focused on sourcing and execution of secondary
transactions. Prior to co-founding Nottingham, Mr. Miller spent three years at Pomona Capital (Pomona) where he was a Partner focusing on
secondary deal sourcing and investment analysis. Pomona manages approximately $6.0 billion across various secondary, primary and co-investment
vehicles. Additionally, Pomona manages private equity investments on behalf of the ING insurance companies in North America as well as third
party investors. Mr. Miller was a member of the Pomona Capital Investment Committee, which reviewed and committed capital to secondary, primary
and co-investment opportunities.
Before joining Pomona, he spent seven years at AXA Private Equity, where he was a Senior Investment Manager and head of the New York office. In
that role, he was responsible for sourcing and executing secondary transactions as well as evaluating and analyzing private equity funds on both a
primary and secondary basis. AXA Private Equity manages capital for the AXA insurance companies as well as third party investors. Mr. Miller served
on the Global Investment Committee of AXA Private Equity. Mr. Miller previously spent two years as a Senior Associate in Alternative Investments
at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette focusing on the primary fund-of-funds business. Mr. Miller has fourteen years of private equity experience.
Mr. Miller received a B.A. from Tulane University majoring in economics.

PANEL: Accessing Career Opportunities in the Alternatives Investments Industry
management. CSC was formed in 2006 by former principals of Citicorp Venture Capital (CVC). At CSC, Mr. Civantos leads the firms investing efforts
in the Business Services sector.
Mr. Civantos has or is currently serving on the boards of several companies, including SGS International, IWCO Direct, Mosaic Sales Solutions,
CompuCom, MSpark Holdings, Vestcom, Remy Inc, MSX International and Encompass Digital Media. Prior to joining CSC in 2004, he spent six
years with the private equity firm Hicks, Muse, Tate & Furst and several years with Morgan Stanley & Co.
Mr. Civantos received his B.A. from Duke University and his M.B.A. with academic distinction from the Wharton School of the University of
Pennsylvania. He also holds an M.A. in International Affairs from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies.

Stefan Strein was named Vice President and Chief Investment Officer of the Annie E. Casey Foundation in January, 2013. In this role, he reports to
the Trustees on performance, asset allocation initiatives, and implementation of investment policy; oversees investment professionals who manage
the foundations endowment; consults with experts to identify macroeconomic trends; and monitors the risk and liquidity profile of the portfolio. He
is a member of the foundations Senior Leadership Team.
Mr. Strein joined Casey in 2005 as the Manager of Alternative Investments, working to build a new platform of alternative asset managers and strategies
including hedge funds, private equity, venture capital, real estate, natural resources and distressed situations. He was promoted to Managing Director

Cheryl D. Alston is the Executive Director of the Employees Retirement Fund of the City of Dallas, Texas (ERF), a $2.9 billion pension plan for the
Citys civilian employees. Ms. Alston began her term as Executive Director in October 2004 and provides leadership for the Funds staff in
implementing the programs necessary to achieve the mission, goals and objectives established by the Board of Trustees. Ms. Alston also serves
on the Board of CHRISTUS Health, a Catholic, faith based international health care system and serves as Chair of the investment committee.
In 2011, Ms. Alston was appointed by President Barack Obama to the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation (PBGC) Advisory Committee. The
PBGC protects the retirement incomes of more than 44 million American workers in 27,500 private-sector defined benefit plans. In 2010, Ms. Alston

Alex Do Executive Director of Private Equity / Emerging Markets, New York City Office of the Compttroller
Mr. Do currently serves as the Executive Director of Private Equity/Emerging Managers in the New York City Comptrollers Office Bureau of Asset
Management. Mr. Do is responsible for developing, directing and overseeing the investment activity of the Private Equity Emerging Managers
Program (EM Program) within the $130 billion NYC Retirement Systems (NYCRS). NYCRSs private equity EM Program is designed to make direct

Prior to joining the NYC Comptrollers Office, Mr. Do was as Presidential Appointee to the Barack Obama Administration during the first term
and served as Associate Director for Business Development at the U.S. Department of Commerce - Minority Business Development Agency. During
his tenure, Mr. Do helped minority-owned businesses secure nearly $11 billion in contracts and capital, leading to the creation and retention of
nearly 20,000 jobs. In his years there, the Agency enjoyed its best performance in its 41-year history.
Mr. Do began his 20-year career as an investment banker at Merrill Lynch & Co. where he was part of the companys Consumer & Retail Industry
Investment Banking practice. His experience covers a full range of financial and advisory transactions including mergers, acquisitions, divestitures,
exclusive sale transactions, general corporate finance advisory and underwriting of equity and debt capital for public and private companies and fi-
