Story:
In the ancient lands of Scandinavia four great clans vie for power over the others. You must step up
to your role in the world and become the gods they follow. Whatever happens in the wars to come,
the fate of all vikings will be decided by you.

Board Setup:
1. Have each viking pick one of the four colored legends. The viking also takes all territory
tokens that is the same color as their color that they picked.

2. Each viking must roll the three dice. Roll to see who goes first. The person who rolls the
highest goes first, and then everyone their right. The number you roll corresponds with the
territory you first own called a Home Territory. Each number corresponds to a territory. You
also pick up the amount of each resource card specified, these are your starting The list of
numbers and territories are below. When you have rolled a number, place a Territory Marker
on the territory you now own. After this everyone takes three of each resource card.
a. 3 = Northern Sweden
b. 4 = The British Isles
c. 5 = Iceland
d. 6 = Svalbard
e. 7 = Eastern Greenland
f. 8 = Northern Greenland
g. 9 = Denmark
h. 10 = Roll Again
i. 11 = Roll Again
j. 12 = Southern Coastal Europe
k. 13 = Southern Sweden
l. 14 = Western Russia
m. 15 = Norway
n. 16 = Northern Coastal Europe
o. 17 = Western Greenland
p. 18 = Finland
(ex. if the sum of the dice you roll is 12, place your territory token on Southern Coastal
Europe.)

3. If a viking rolls a number another viking has already rolled, the viking rolling currently
must roll again until a new territory number is rolled.
(ex. If you are the second player rolling, and the first player has rolled twelve, but you
also roll twelve, you roll again.)
Viking Rules, Setup, Etc.

4. Once the Home territories are decided, all vikings must roll the dice to decide the turn
order. Highest number goes first, then everyone following to the right of the first viking.

Home Territories: The territory you start with is known as your Home Territory. It cannot be
taken by someone else, it cant be taken over until all of your territories besides your Home Territory
have been taken, then your Home territory can be taken.

Rules:
1. When setting up the board, put the Event Cards in the designated area, and put the
Resource Cards anywhere surrounding the board.
2. Once the player who draws the Event Card does as it says, place the Event Card onto
the Discard Pile. Only Event Cards may go to the Discard Pile
3. If all Event Cards have been played, take all of the cards from the Discard Pile, shuffle
them, and place them face-down back onto the Event Card area.
4. The Bank is where all of the Resource Cards are placed. There is no designated area
on the board where the Bank is placed, so put the Resource Cards anywhere surrounding
the board. At the start of the game, no one starts with resource cards.

How to Play:
1. The first viking draws an Event Card from the top of the Event Card stack, then does as
the Event Card says.
a. The events stated on the Event Cards include gaining or losing resource
cards (Wood, Metal, Furs, and Food), losing turns, and others.
2. After the Event Card portion of the turn has passed, the current viking is allowed to
trade with other people. At the beginning of the vikings turn, they are allowed to trade with
other players. But only the viking whose turn it is may trade with other vikings. Only Resource
Cards may be traded. Boat and Viking tokens may not be traded. After trading, the current
viking is allowed to use Resource cards to craft Viking or Boat tokens.

3. Now the player whose turn it is may choose to claim a new territory, raid someone, or
move Boat and Viking tokens. If the viking chooses to invade a players territory, go to A
(below). If the viking chooses to settle undiscovered territories, go to B (below). If the viking
chooses to raid someone, go to C (below). If the viking chooses to move Viking or Boat
tokens, go to D (Below). If the viking chooses not to claim new lands, raid, or move tokens, it
is then the next players turn.

a. When invading a players territory you must turn in at least one boat and
two vikings to roll one die. However, the defender must have at least 1 Viking at a
territory they own, at all times. Players can put a maximum of three Viking tokens in a
territory. For every viking token in your territory, you get one dice to roll when attacked
by another player. When the invader invades the territory, the invader and the
defender have to roll at least one die depending on the number of tokens each player is
using. If the invader rolls a higher total sum than the opponent, the land now belongs
to him. If the defending player is successful, the land remains with him and the invader
must give any card, chosen randomly by the winner, to the winner, and the attackers
turn ends. If both players roll the same total sum, each roll once more and higher

number wins. You may not use Boat tokens when invading a territory that shares a land
border with you.

(Ex: If one player with 2 boats and 4 vikings invades a territory that shares a land
border with the you, with 3 vikings at the defending territory, the invader rolls 2 dice in
the battle and the defender rolls 3 dice in the battle. Then, the defender rolls a total of
14 from the 3 dice and the invader rolls a total of 11 from the 2 dice. The defender wins
the battle and gets to keep the territory and all vikings at it. The invader loses all
vikings and boats that were engaged in battle.

b. When settling new land, the player must turn in 1 Boat, 3 Wood, and 2
Food resource cards, and then place one of their Territory Tokens on the land the player
is settling. Players must have at least 1 Viking at a territory they own. Players can put a
maximum of three troops in a territory. For every viking token in your territory, you get
one dice to roll when attacked by another player.

c. When raiding someone, you have to be in a territory next to the territory

you want to raid. The dotted lines represent paths between territories. To begin the
raid, turn in 2 Viking tokens and have both players roll the dice. If the invader rolls a
number lower than the defender, they get nothing, and the attackers turn is over. If
the invader rolls a number higher than the defender, they may take five Resource cards
from the defenders cards randomly chosen by the invader.
(Ex: To raid Svalbard, you have to be in Northern Greenland, Norway, or Western
Russia.)

d. The lines between territories represent borders. Moving 2 Viking tokens

across land borders requires 1 Food card. Moving Viking and Boat tokens across sea
borders requires requires 1 Food card and another 1 Food per every 2 Viking Tokens.
One boat can fit four vikings. (ex. If you want to move four vikings and one boat from
Norway across the sea to the British Isles, it will cost you 1 Food card for the boat and
another 2 Food cards since you are moving four vikings.)
