Health aspects: These RC Colour Papers are not hazardous to health.


Fire hazards: RC Colour papers exhibit burning rates and hazards similar to other plastic laminated papers of
equivalent thickness. Considerable heating above ambient conditions is required before ignition
and combustion can occur. Products of combustions will depend on the burning conditions and
are likely to include oxides of carbon, nitrogen and sulphur.
Extinguishing media: Use water spray, carbon dioxide (CO2) or dry powder extinguishers.

5. Waste disposal
Waste processed RC colour papers are listed under the European Waste Catalogue (EWC) as 09 01 08 photographic film
and paper free of silver or silver compounds. Unprocessed papers are 09 01 07 photographic film and paper
containing silver or silver compounds. Neither is classified as hazardous and may be recycled along with other
laminated papers where facilities exist. If recycling is not an option these papers can be incinerated with or without
energy recovery. If recovery is not possible they can be disposed of by landfill.
