For this reason, BRIGHT circuit fe separatea from GAIN circuit by means of pre-amplifier. Furthermore, GAIN VR controls only the gain of tow intensity while BRIGHT VR controls the gains of both low and high intensities. ‘The analog signal is input directly to the pre-enplifier (£0202) via 5203, and its bias and gain are controlled and amplified by BRIGHT VR and GAIN VR respectively. ~ 23 - a CC526 ‘the signal to be amplified by the pre-amplitier is added with the correcting current depending fon the nunber of horizontal Lines. thus variations in brightnees by the changes in horizontal Lines are prevented. This moniter performs autozatic Judgement of “sync. on Green” signal. Its method is explained below a Pr ae 2 apes In the case of "sync. on Green", the horizontal synchronizing signal of TTL input does not exist. In other words, the TTL horizontal synchronizing signal triggers the one shot multi-vibrator to protect the signal from the “sync. on Green" separation circuit If the TTL synchronizing signal does not exist, the synchronizing signal from "syne. on Green" ie connected. ~~ 5) Synchronous Separation Circuit In the conventional eyste 1 the integrating ekrcuit was used when sparating the vertical synchronizing signal fron the composite synchronizing signal. However both accuracy and stability were poor, and its application to the automatic tracking monitor was not suitable. (any signal should be separated correctly-) Tharefore, in thie monitor, separation is nade by the digital circuit shown below: @ EB e UU LU U1 @ C0529 6) Concept of Brightness control For the brightness control, BRIGHT VR and GAIN VR are available. Im this case, the term “type of aynchronizing signal” means the two types, namely, the separate sink and the composite sink when the switch {s in the preset state, the IBM modo autonatic correction is perforned. Fig. 2-2 shows the MPU control block diagran. ‘The synchronizing signal being input is classified into four stages ae shown in Table 2-1, depending on ite frequency. Furthermore, the MPU identifies ae to whether the input signal is CGA, MDA, EGA, PG (or VER depending fon the polarity and type of eynchronizing signal.) when the switch {s in normal state, the classified vertical frequency range is encoded -a2- 2) in 2ebit and output as the vertical screen width control signal. When the switch is pre- set, output is made after control to the vertical screen-width, vertical screen-position, horizontal screen-width, horizontal sereen- position, brightness, and digital color matrix by the Identified IBM mode. When the IBM signal ie input in the state of switch pre-set, the screen can be displayed with adequate sereen-width, screen-position and brightness, without operating the volune-control located on the front side, Regardless of the switch position, the classified horizontal frequency range is encoded in 2-bit, and output as the control signal of Seshape correction capacitor (Cs). Identification of Frequency by MPU Figures 2-2 and 2-3 illustrate the composition of a/n ‘The vertical eynchronizing signal is input as an interruption (170) while the horizontal synchronizing signal ig divided into four in its circunference and each quarter is input as an interruption. - 33 - C0535 C0536 Within the MPU, the tiner interruption of 0.5as cycle is generated by the clock generator. The vertica frequency (Fv) counts the number of timer interruptions generated in a vertical interruption cycle, and calculates the fre- quency by equation 4-1. Fv = 1/(0-5 x 109 x ve) = 2,000/Ve [Hz] (4-1) here Vo iv the software-counter by 2-word RAM. xn this aysten, when the frequency increases, the resolution decrenses. therefore, in the high-frequency region, thé bande to be classified have been expanded. Ae shown in Fig. 2-4, the horizontal synchro= nous freguency (Fy) takes a tine delay of Sas just after the vertical fntercuption, counts ‘the number (ic) of hortzontal interruptions to bo generated during the next Sms, and calcula tes the frequency by equation 4-2. Fy = 4lic/(Sx10"3) = aHe/S (ete) (4-2) Classification is made into four stages by the calculated frequency as shown in Table 2-1. - 34 3) CC537 ‘The reason why the horizontal synchronizing signal is divided into four in its elroum ference and taken as the interruption input is to secure sufficient interruption processing time, The minimum interruption cycle is of the horizontal interruption, and its cycle becomes minimum vhen the horizontal frequency {8 35.5 kz. By dividing into four in its efrcum ference, the minimum intexruption cycle fs taken as 110 ps. Furthermore, the nesting-less progran has been designed by minimizing the number of etpes in the interruption processing program. The time delay of Sus just after the vertical interruption is set to eliminate the difference in counting due to existence of non-existence of the equivalent pulse as is observed in the composite synchronizing eignal. Judgement of Synchronizing Signal Type by MPU Among the IBM signals, the difference of hori~ zontal synchronous frequency between VGA and PGC is only 1 kiiz. As cited in 2) above, the -35- C0538 resolution of horizontal frequency is 0.8k#2, which makes the Judgement by frequency dif- ficult. For this reason, the difference in synchronizing signal types as the criterion for judgement. Fig. 2-5 shows the cireuit configuration. First, the logical product of each synchronizing signal is taken by the output of HPU, and its Logical sum ts taken as the interruption input. When the logical product cannot be taken, the interruption input is not generated. ‘therefore, in terns of software, the excess of interruption-waiting time is detected. Thus the MPU reverses the output when the excess of time {s generated, When the interruption ts generated, the type of synchronization ts Judged by the statue of output. Pig. 2-6 shows the Elow chart. 4) Detection of Synchronous Frequency by MPU ‘The graphic board is available. This hes multiple number of synchronizing signals and uses these frequencies by changing-over in terms of software. To be applicable to these ~ 36 - C0539 boards, it has been designed so that the micro~ program of MPU can detect the changes in synchro- nous Frequency and change the control output. First of all, the change in frequency is detected. To prevent unstable variations in the control output, the software filter is pro- vided to neglect the variations below 2kitz of horizontal frequency and 4Hz of vertical fre~ quency. Purthermore, in sone boards, the synchronous polarity is changed-over at the sane tine of the synchronous frequency. In this case, the MPU detects very unstable variations of frequency. To prevent such unstable picture by variations in frequency, the MPU outputs blanking signal to the screen. when the frequency s stabilized, the MPU ‘transmits the control output in accordance with the frequency being input.
