I. INTRODUCTION

Robots are not just machines, they are many steps ahead a typical
machine. Robots like machines can perform different tough jobs easily but
the advancement is that they can do it by their own. Once programmed
robots can perform required tasks repeatedly in exactly the same way. The
modern definition of a robot can be an electro-mechanical device which
follows a set of instructions to carry out certain jobs, but literally robot
means a slave. Robots find wide application in industries and thus are
called there as industrial robots and also in sci-fi movies as humanoids.
When we think about robotics first thing that come to our mind is
automation. Robots are known to perform tasks automatically without much
human intervention, except for initial programming and instruction set being
provided to them. The more advanced versions of robots seen now-a-days
can perform operations adaptively, that is, changing the dimensions and
other settings according to the requirements. One such advanced example
of an adaptive robot is a stitching machine which can read the different
dimensions of dress size on the personal card of a person and then cut the
desired dress material and stitch it to the size fitting to the person.
Robot Wireless Remote Control is a kind of robot that has an advance
feature by using mobile phone to control it. The mobile phone can control
the movement of the robot by pressing the specific numbers that
corresponds to the directions. If the caller type the specific number the
robot will move on how it is being commanded by the caller. Dual Tone
Modulation Frequency (DTMF) is responsible for the mobile phone to be
detected by the robot for the movements and any commands given by the
caller. This also works from a far distance from a caller to the connected
mobile phone in the robot. This wireless robot will only work using two
mobile phones, the one is connected in the robot and the other one is the
caller that will control it.
From a broad view, robotics is actually the continuous endeavour of
robotics engineers to make machines capable of performing tasks as
delicately as human can do and also the complicated, tough and repeated
tasks which humans would prefer not to do.

II. RELATED STUDIES
GSM Controlled Robot using Microcontroller

-GSM (Global System for Mobile Communication) controlled robot or SMS

controlled robot is a wireless robot which performs the necessary actions by receiving a

set of instructions in the form a Short Message Service (SMS). In this project, people

can control the robot directions like forward, backward, left and right by sending SMS

from the mobile. This mainly consists of 2 sections, one is mobile unit and the other one

is robot unit. The GSM modem which is fixed at the robot receives the messages sent

by the mobile and gives the instructions to the microcontroller to control the robot

directions. In this project, we interface 8051 microcontroller with GSM SIM 300. The

protocol used for the communication between controller and GSM modem is UART

(Universal Asynchronous Receiver-Transmitter). This system continuously checks for

message to take the decision for controlling the robot.

Remote Operated Spy Robot Circuit

-The maximum controllable range is 125 meters. The remote has four switches to

control the robot in four directions. The robot senses the surroundings through the CCD

camera and sends to the receiver through the Radio Frequency wireless

communication. When we press any key in remote, the HT12E encoder generates 8 bit

address and 4 bit data. Then ASK (Amplitude shift keying) transmitter sends 8 bit

address and 4 bit data to the receiver. At the remote section DIP (dual inline package)

switches are used to set 8 bit address. Receiver receives these 12 bit data and gives it

to the HT12D decoder to decode the data. The decoded data is given to the L293D
motor driver to rotate the robot motors.

Remote Controlled, Wireless Water Level Controller Circuit

-The remote control has a Tx (transmitter) and and Rx (receiver). The transmitter

is triggered through four discrete switches which encode and transmit the signals

discretely into the atmosphere. The receiver captures these signals, decodes it and

sends it to one of the four outputs relevant to the decoded info. This output responds by

becoming high as long as the corresponding Tx switch is kept depressed.

The idea of the proposed water level controller through a remote control module is to

press the Tx switches via relay contacts actuated by the water level controller circuit in

response to the various water level conditions, as configured by the user.

III. SCOPES AND LIMITATIONS

Wireless Remote Controlled Robot can perform by using mobile phone to command for the
desire directions. Two mobile phones are needed for this robot to function. The one mobile
phone will be connected to the robot and the other one will the one to control it. The caller will
call the mobile phone that is being connected to the robot and if the connected mobile phone
pick up the incoming call, thats the time the caller can control the movements and the directions
of the robot. By pressing the specific number in the mobile phone the robot will move according
to the number with corresponding movements. By doing this the robot will move on the direction
that the caller desire.
This wireless robot will work even if the caller is not in the vicinity of the wireless robot. Even
from a far distance it will work because of the Dual Tone Modulation Frequency (DTMF) that
generate the tone combination of two frequencies from our keypad. The mobile phone that is
used by the caller should have a load and the other phone that is being connected to the
wireless remote controlled robot should pick up the incoming call to start the process.

V. RECOMMENDATION

Having camera on this device can be recommended. This camera can


make this wireless remote controlled robot operate as a surveillance
camera. This added feature
can be used as security purposes in jewelry shop, pawn shop etc. This can
also be a big help If someone wants to investigate something.

Human detector sensor may also be applied. This sensor can be employ
at the time of disaster like earthquake or any other related natural calamity
to detect and reach human under buildings. This can save peoples life.
