RADOMES << Table of Contents

Competitive-edge components

TenCate materials have been used for over twenty years on a

variety of military and commercial aircraft radomes as well as
in antenna structure. Materials used in radome construction
must be free of carbon fiber conductive particles and are
made at TenCate in specialized carbon-free areas. Most
reinforcements are glass, quartz, polyethylene or aramid-
based.

Radomes are designed for transmission efficiency. TenCate

materials used in radome construction possess low dielectric
constants and low moisture absorption allowing increased
efficiency from the antenna and exhibit low loss tangents Low Dielectric Materials
offering very low resistance to electrical energy. TenCate low dielectric epoxies and cyanate ester
prepregs are used in both commercial and military
aircraft as well as defense and ship radar structure.
