HSDPA and BTS dimensioning

Some of the supported capacities mentioned in this document might require

separate

licenses in the RAN before they can be activated. For more detailed information, see

License Management in WCDMA RAN.

4.5.1 Scheduler types

In the RU20/RU20 On Top release, one of the following baseband configurations can
be

selected:

1. Minimum baseband allocation

This scheduler supports one to three HSDPA cells and a maximum of 16 HSDPA

users per scheduler. HSDPA users can be divided freely between three cells. Up to

3.6 Mbps is supported per scheduler with 5 codes and 16QAM (from the practical

point of view, 64QAM modulation is not available).

Flexi System Module Rel1 (FSMB) / WSPC

32CE are reserved from WSPC or Flexi System Module Rel1 capacity.

Flexi System Module Rel2 (FSMC/D/E) / EUBB (WSPF)

36CE are reserved from WSPF or Flexi System Module Rel2 capacity.

2. HSDPA 16 users per cell

With this scheduler, a maximum of 16 HSDPA users per cell can be supported. Up

to 3.6 Mbps with 16QAM is supported per cell (from the practical point of view,

64QAM modulation is not available).

Flexi System Module Rel1 (FSMB) / WSPC

32CE are reserved from WSPC or Flexi System Module rel.1 capacity.

Flexi System Module Rel2 (FSMC/D/E) / EUBB (WSPF)

In RU20 main release, 36CE are reserved from WSPF or Flexi System Module

Rel2 capacity. In RU20 On Top release, the scheduler is not available with
System Module Rel2 / WSPF.

3. Shared HSDPA scheduler for baseband efficiency

Flexi System Module Rel1(FSMB) / WSPC

The maximum of 48 HSDPA users per scheduler are supported. HSDPA users

can be divided freely among three cells. Up to 10.8 Mbps are supported with 45

codes (15 codes per cell) and 16QAM modulation. 64 CE are reserved from

WSPC card and 80 CE from Flexi System Module Rel1 submodule per scheduler.

Up to 6 UEs per TTI (maximum 3 UEs per cell) can be served by scheduler.

Up to 12 HSDPA cells can be served with 4 WSPC for HSDPA.

Flexi System Module Rel2 (FSMC/D/E) / EUBB (WSPF)

The maximum of 72 HSDPA users per scheduler are supported. HSDPA users

can be divided freely among three cells. Up to 42.2 Mbps (RU20 On Top) are

supported per HSDPA scheduler with 45 codes (15 codes per cell) and 16QAM

or 64QAM modulation. 72 CE are reserved per scheduler. Up to 9 UEs can be

served in one TTI (max 4 UEs per cell).

In RU20 On Top release, MIMO feature is also available with Shared HSDPA

scheduler for baseband efficiency (In RU20 main release, MIMO is supported
