Sin, Death, Me and the World of which I am a Part

By Julmar Joseph B. Misa for CFFS 2- Section X

Sin: Whoever conceals their sins does not prosper, but the one who confesses and renounces them
finds mercy. Proverbs 28:13

Like everybody else I am also a sinner and every second of it I regret it. I have knowingly sinned a lot,
even though there were times wherein God has already intervened for me not to commit sin I still reject Him
and follow my sinful instinct greatly influenced by evil. This blessed year of our Lord, 2016 I have stepped
within the portals of Silliman University, Dumaguete City. I have become an entirely changed person. I am
HAVING my closest encounter with God with the help of Victory Church Dumaguete and theres no moment of
me being unhappy with it. I have learned to confess my sins and to repent for it for me to warm-heartedly
accept Him as part of me and for me to prosper and truly receive salvation from God. I have learned to do
away with sin even if it comes at me through temptation, I have learned to renounce it for the sake of my love
for our God. Wishful as I am, I know that God will always be there for me and I will find mercy from Him.

Death: For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him
should not perish, but have eternal life. John 3:16

We have committed sin ever since the beginning of time through Adam and Eve until now in a world
filled with Good and Evil. We are not victims of circumstances simply because of the past atrocious acts our
ancestors have committed, and that we have not contributed to its completion in any possible way. I believe
that men and women were supposed to have an eternal life not only spiritually but also physically yet we never
failed in proving to God over and over again that we are not deserving of such bountiful gifts. After all those
sinful acts of humanity, God never ceased in loving us all, selflessly loving us all that He even gave His only
begotten Son, Jesus Christ for us to have eternal life, for those who believe and accept Him by heart.

Me, and the World of Which I am a Part: Matagal namamatay ang mga masasamang damo. A
common Filipino idiom that denotes a person of bad characteristics or personality lives longer. In todays world
of which I am of, everybody is bad, one way or another, we are all sinners after all. Its just that there is
someone who is more and someone who is less, and I believe the one who is more Christ-like is taken by
God from his or her sinful mortal body and is allowed entry to His Kingdom. The one who is less Christ-like is
given some more time to redeem his or her self and accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. I had a
teacher before, she taught us well. I could say that because I understood our lesson very well. You can really
tell from the way she speaks that she loves our Lord God so much. Unbeknownst to us that soon she will be
entering the Kingdom of God which will leave us devastated and mourning later on. Now, as a more
enlightened person I believe that we should have been happy for her because she will be receiving eternal life.
Yet what happened was a celebration in the Heavens above and mourning here below on earth.

Sin, death, me and the world of which I am a part, four equally important terms having contrasting yet
interrelated meanings to our very own existence.
