A. Write ONE (1) take away from each of the THREE (3) documents.

Its great to hear that Physical and Health education will now receive federal funding, especially
for lowincome schools. It helps that students will receive a wellrounded education and not
just focus in on the core subjects.

Its great that this act enables more technology to be used in the class and gives funding to
healthrelated components such as, school mental health, drug and violence prevention, and
training on traumainformed practices, health and physical education. I like that schools need to
show that they need the funding and the resources and arent just handed it because some people
will take advantage of the process if that was the situation. I love that this act involves the
funding for art, music, history, etc.

Positive relationship with academic achievement and test scores. Positive association with
academic achievement, concentration, and ontask behavior. Encourages a lifetime of healthy
habits. Strategy for reducing childhood obesity. Reduces discipline referrals and participation
highrisk behaviors. Physical education is key to academic success and it will show students
how to lead a healthy lifestyle even when they are out of school.

B. Write personal reflection (role now as a student and as a future health

and/or physical educator moving forward with this legislation)

As a student it will help to know that Physical and Health education is moving into the 21st
century with the use of more updated technology in the classroom. This day in age, many
students are so used to having some type of technology in their hands for most of the day.
Videotaping students movements of a skill and showing it back to them for assessment. That
would help the visual learners in the class.

As a future teacher, I hope to keep students interested in my classes through using technology.
Also, it is reassuring to having a future career thats receiving more federal funding because it
that shows that what you do matters and people believe in what you do.
