Introducing T3 JA Framework

Starting with February 2010 template all Gavick templates will be

based on new T3 JA Framework.

T3 framework is the third generation template framework

developed by J.O.O.M Solutions Co., Ltd. for Joomla! 1.5 and
above and brings a new file/folder structure, new features and lots
of improvements.

So what exactly can this new T3 framework do? Essentially it does

a big thing with small and innovative scripting.

Memovie - Overview files

As usual you can download Memovie quickstart version for fast installation to enjoy quickly full characteristics of our demo. See
respective chapter further ahead.

After having download all of the files from our commercial section, here’s an brief content evaluation of the Memovie package.
Have in consideration that some of the used tools posses their respective support manuals, so we will provide orientation
guidance for the respective installation and include also some screenshots about the configurations of all parameters of each
module. To get additional informations of our extensions, please read the Support Manual included on the respective package.

Here’s a brief overview of the files available inside the “Memovie” template package.

»» gk_memovie_J!15.tgz - This is the template file and for installation, please use Joomla installer.
»» gk_memovie_rest_files_J!15.zip
After decompression of _rest_files.zip you will find following folders:
»» components ”folder”
Here you can find file including list of components used on demo server for this template. Components can be
downloaded for free from Gavick website.
»» jcomment theme ”folder”
Here is special theme for Jcomment component from JomlaTune. To use this simply copy the gk_style to components/
com_jcomments/tpl/.
»» modules ”folder”
Here you can find information about used modules and website where you can download them.
»» plugins ”folder”
Contains the new GK Typography plugin (plg.gk_typography.zip) for WYSIWYG editor use. For respective installation,
please use Joomla Installer and them enable it on plugins manager.
New is plugin for advanced menu parameters (plg_system_menuparams.zip). Thanks to this plugin you can insert
menu sub-titles etc.
»» source ”folder”
For further customization of template source files may be handy. All files are saved as layered Photoshop PSD files.

Memovie Quick Guide Step by Step Installation

For experience users in Joomla!, the following list of tasks should be enough for a proper installation of the template and all
extensions. Having as a principle that already have the latest joomla version installed on your site, follow these basic instructions:

Step 1) Install Memovie template using the Joomla installer. File: (gk_memovie_J!15.tgz )

Step 2) Head to Templates Manager and establish Memovie as your default template.

Step 3) Again through the joomla installer, install Tabs Manager GK3 component. You must first download it from our free
download extensions tools. File: (com_gk3_tabs_manager.zip).

Step 4) Still from the Tabs Manager GK3 component package, install the respective module. File: (mod_gk_tab.zip).

Step 5) Then install the News Show Pro GK1 module using the Joomla Installer. File: (mod_news_pro_gk1.zip).

Step 6) Do not forget Photoslide GK3 component using the Joomla Installer. File: (com_gk3_photoslide.zip).

Step 7) And still from same package from modules directory install GK Image Show module using the Joomla Installer.
File: (mod_gk_image_show.zip).

Step 8) K2 is a powerful & extensible content component for Joomla! with CCK-like features designed & developed by
JoomlaWorks, install it using the Joomla Installer. Download from http://getk2.org/

Step 9) For unleashing full menu features you need to install system menu plugin using the Joomla Installer. File: (plg_
system_menuparams.zip ).

Step 10) To spice up your joomla content, install GK Typography plugin and enable it on Plugins Manager panel. File:
(plg.gk_typography.zip).

Step 11) From JoomlaTune install JComments component (com_jcomments_v2.1.0.0.zip) using standard Joomla
installer.

Step 12) Copy JComments style from rest_package zip folder and select gk_style as template (inside Layout setting).

Step 13) Again from JoomlaTune install JComments Latest module using standard Joomla installer. File: (mod_jcomments_
j15_v2.5.4)

With all 13 steps completed, your website has all the necessary conditions for Memovie template. Further ahead, we provide
orientation of the demo modules positions and their respective configurations (you can find screenshots added on the HelpFile

package).

Memovie template installation

After you have installed the joomla 1.5 version, navigate to your Joomla! Administrator and enter inside the administrative panel
on your Joomla website.  From the top menu, select “Extensions > Install/Uninstall”. 

Click the ‘browse’ button, select the template file (gk_memovie_J!15.tgz) and press ‘Upload File & Install.’ 

Message will be displayed saying ‘Install template Success’. and showing an overview of the template.

Now you have the template installed, but you need to assign it as your default template of your website. To do this, navigate to
“Extensions > Template Manager” and set it as default template.

With the template installed and assign, let’s now see all the parameters available on the template for admin control.

5 Template Parameters

Quay comes with several parameters that you can configurate as your needs. To access the template parameters, navigate to
“Extensions > Template Manage” and select gk_memovie template. Press “edit” option or just click on template link as you be
able to see the following parameters table.
Presets template parameters: Fonts:
Template color: Here you can define font that you want to be used for several website elements.
Select default template color (Blue/Red/Bronze). If you want to use Cufon font you can generate your own font on website: http://
cufon.shoqolate.com/generate/
Background image: Same applies in case Cufon font provided with template doesn’t include
apostrophes and other special characters for your language.
Select bg image without editing css..simply past your image into
images/backgrounds and you will be able to select it.
Features:
Fixed background:
Select ON or OFF...defines whether bg image will stay still or will
scroll with site.
Login button:
Show or hide login button (this setting is working regardless login module
Show mainbody on frontpage: being published or not).

Show or hide mainbody on frontpage. Register button:

Show or hide register button (this setting works regardless setting inside global
Mainbody position: configuration)
Set mainbody position to the following options: Select Logo Type:
. No mainbody
If you want to have image instead of text select Image.

. Mainbody after component Enter here your logo text (in case you have Logo Type selected to Text).

Default layout: Slogan:

Define the layout of the template. Enter here your slogan - smaller text next to your logo text (again only in case

This is neat feature for diversifying your site layout for different pages.
If you want to show style switcher on bottom of site select ON, otherwise OFF.

Iphone: Write here your copyright notice. It will appear in the middle at the bottom of

In this section you can configure width in pixels of all template blocks.

Menu:
Menu Module:
Select a menu name to be used (usually mainmenu or topmenu)
Menu type:
Select main menu type: (Mega Menu - Moomenu - CSS Menu - Split Menu - Drop
Line Menu).
Customize menu for pages:
You can define different menu type for different pages using component name or
ItemID. Eg: com_content=css or 10=dropline
Animation type:
Select type of menu animation transition. Menu animation only works in LTR mode.
Animation duration:
Time in miliseconds for slide or fade.

Updates:
Here you can find information about updates for your Memovie template.
As possible to see from setting picture on left side, Update 1.1.0 was available soon
after template release. This update adds more color versions and also some minor bug
fixes.

 7 Module Variations
Module as Component (on mainbody).

Our templates allows you to display any Module as Component (on component mainbody position). It will display full width or
not, depending on the module width configuration. If you have any doubt of this feature, please ask us for support in GavickPro
Oficial Forum.

Modules Variations
Memovie template comes with embed style modules positions and with the following modules suffix.
Please mind different suffix look for different template style!

There are six module suffixes included in his Module class suffixes that looks same for all template
template. styles:
_color1
_color2
_color3
_clear
nopadding
nsp

Note, that there is space before nsp and also

nopadding.

Both module class suffixes:

_clear
_nopadding
look the same for all template styles. Best use for _nopadding
is module GK Tabs. Module class suffix _clear is used for advert
modules inside Header 2 position inside QuickStart package.
You can also use combinations like this: _color1 nopadding

Tabs Manager GK3

Tabs Manager GK3 is an amazing tool to display content on tabs, like articles, modules or even custom XHTML content. You
need to download this component from our free download section on http://www.gavick.com/
downloads-area.html.

Please, before installation unpack this file first.

Component Installation
Using the Joomla Installer, get com_gk3_tabs_manager.zip file and select “upload and install”.
A message will appear saying ‘Upload Component - Success” and it will show you an overview
of the component.

Warning! You cannot link directly the component using joomla menu for frontpage display.

Component Setting
After installation go to Gavick Tabs Manager GK3.
Step 1) Create group (just select name and description)

Step 2) Add tabs. Tabs in demo are created using XHTML tab type and video is pasted as embded code without using
WYSIWYG editor!! Please note, that when adding videos you need to use wmode=transparent. For more info go to: http://

There is no futher setting neccesary within Gavick Tabs Manager GK3. Continue with module installation and module setting.

GK Tabs GK1 Module

Installation
For front end display of the Tabs Manager GK3 groups
content, please use the Gavick Tabs GK1 Module.

Using the Joomla Installer, search for the mod_gk_tab.

zip and select “upload and install”. A message will appear
saying ‘Install Module Sucess”. You can now see this
module available on “Extensions > Module Manager” list.

Configuration
If you need to check our module configuration used on the
demo template see image on right side.

Most importantly do not forget to specify Tabs group and

module height (270px in demo), module width is not
neccesary.

Demo uses Style CSS - Style 1 and Style type - horizontal

IMPORTANT!!! - In case you find problems with module

style (i.e. - strange border around module), you can disable
module CSS in advanced parameters. By doing this, it
should solve your problem.

PhotoSlide GK3
PhotoSlide GK3 is the most advanced and free component for Image Slide available for
Joomla!1.5. You need to download this package from our free tools download section
on http://www.gavick.com/downloads-area.html and them unpack this file. Using
the Joomla Installer, search for the com_gk3_photoslide.zip and select “upload and
install”. A message will appear saying ‘Upload Component - Success” and it will show
you an overview of the component.

For further detail information, please read the PhotoSlide GK3 HelpFile provided in the
_doc! folder package.

PhotoSlide GK3 Group Setting

Following also the instructions available on the PhotoSlide GK3 Helpfile, here’s a
screenshot from the group configuration used on the demo for the Header1 module on
mainbody position. Set the following parameters group fields.

Name: Image width:

Set name ID for the group. Set main image width in pixels.
Description: Image height:
Give some description of your group. Set main image height in pixels.

Group type: Thumbnail width:

Set your group type between Image Group and News Show ProSet width for thumbnails in pixels.

GK1 group. In this case, you need to select Image Show GroupQuality:
type.
Thumbnail height: Set images quality in percentagem (recommended values
between 75 and 95%.
Set height for thumbnails in pixels.

Gavick Image Show Module

For frontend display of the PhotoSlide GK3 groups, you need to use the GK Image Show module. t link directly the In this
template, we create an exclusive module style and engine for Image Show module with his our parameters. So, using the Joomla
Installer, search for the mod_gk_image_show.zip and select “upload and install” A message will appear saying ‘Install Module
Sucess”. If all goes well, you should see the Gavick Image Show module available on “Extensions > Module Manager” list. Find
the module and get inside for configurate.

A suffix can be applied from the css class of the module (table.
moduletable) an this will allow individual module CSS style.
Module unique ID:
Each module must have unique ID, if you have two or more
modules working (i.e. newsimage1 or newsimage2)
Slides Group:
Select your group from the component to be displayed in this
module.
Module Style:
Select style for your module. In this case, since Hit Music
template has built-in style for this module then please select
‘template style’
Style Variation:
Select style variation for module - it is a CSS filename without
extension.

Extended menu plugin overview

As was already mentioned at the beginning for proper work of extended menu parameters is necessary to install plg_system_
menuparams.zip from gk_memovie_rest_files_J!15.zip. And do not forget to publish this plugin!
To use extended parameters you need to use Mega Menu as your Menu type (defined inside template setting)!!

We implemented this new feature extremely useful for the use of typography, specially created for the template. Like in all joomla
Show Title:
Setting to No will hide menu title..so you will get only blank space if selected to Yes.
Add Description:
Add subtitle for menu item.
Columns:
Define number of columns you want to have for items under this
menu item.
Group:
Do not group first level menu items! This apply only on second level
menu items. Grouping will show 3rd level menu items bellow their
parent 2nd level menu item.
Submenu Content:

GK typography plugin overview

We implemented this new feature extremely useful for the use of typography,
specially created for the template. Like in all joomla templates, characterization
of the text style is added to enrich even more the respective content. However, we
may say that some Users have not been motivated to use this potential, perhaps
because this information was not easily available.
So, in order to promote and facilitate the use of the typography, we added a
special plugin that will allow Users to set easily any typography style in text.

This new feature will be implemented in all our future templates and also on our
old templates from 2008 to 2009.

GK typography plugin installation

Go to “Extensions > Install/Uninstall” and select the plg.gk_typography.zip file, available inside the plugins folder on the
gk_elvesocial_J!15_rest_files package. Upload file and install.
A message will appear saying ‘Install Plugin Success” and it will show you an small description of the plugin.

Next, you will need to enable it on the Plugin Manager of your Joomla.
So, navigate “Extensions > Plugin Manager “ and find the Button - GK Typography Plugin and enable it.

GK typography plugin How to Use

It’s very easy to work with, as you be able to see.
So, let’s start by creating a new article. Go to “Content > Articles Manager” and press new button. Now you will see the normal
WYSIWYG joomla editor and on the bar above you will find the GK Typography button.

Click on it and a modalbox will popup with all the Typography added to this template. Scroll down top select the desired one,
and press the respective text style on the left column.

For example, i will select the “info3” typography style. So, i just press on it and immediatly text will be added on the text area.

You already have a website and want to use this template ?

If you choose to install this template in an already existing website, make sure that you have the latest version of Joomla (present version - J!1.5.15). If not,
please upgrade to insure compatibility with our template and extensions. Naturally, if this is your case, you must install all files individual, from template
to components, modules and plugins. Nevertheless, please remember that the QuickStart version is still important ally for orientation. Just remember the
previous recommendations.

Do you have some problems with our extension?

Some usual problems reported on our support forum are script conflict from 3th party extensions. If you know Joomla enough, you know there’s an
huge amount of solutions and extensions available for free or commercial from other teams or developers. Naturally, you will search others extensions
to complete some particular funcionality to furfill your website needs. But understand that we are responsable only for our template and extensios, and
we cannot garantee that all 3th party tools will work perfectly with our project. So, it’s in your hands to choose those extensions on Joomla Comunity.
Nevertheless, ask for support in our forum, and if possible we will try to provide your solution.

Another usual problem identified in our forum is related with permissons on files and directory. Some tools need specific files to have rewrite or read
permissions, so you might find some problems if you don’t have this permissions set. Notice that we cannot control your server security configurations,
