ABSTRACT

The purpose of this research was to determine that the use of the Tortugarte educational
software develops the capacities of the mathematics area in fourth grade students of the
"Virgen de la Candelaria" Educational Institution, Poyunte - Celendn, 2014.

The sample was made of 36 students of both sexes, 18 students for the experimental
group and 18 students for the control group. The type of research was applied, in the
quantitative approach of quasi-experimental design. In order to test the hypothesis, it
was used as instrument a mathematics knowledge test with pretest and posttest.

It was determined that the use of Tortugarte educational software influenced in a


significant way, a 35% in Reasoning and Demonstration ability, 30% in Mathematical
Communication and a 39% in Problem Solving, this fact shows that the objectives have
been met and the Hypothesis has been confirmed.
