1.0 TOPIC

The topic that has been chosen by our group is The effect of water supply disruption
to the residents of Tenth and Eleventh College. Water disruption is a very common issue
faced by the residents of both colleges. Recently, these colleges had been supplied with
unclean and smelly water followed by water disruption that last for about 2 days. This cause
the daily activities of students being disrupt as most of our daily routine depends on water.
Unclean water also affects our health as it is being consumed as drinking water and for food
preparation in the caf. A survey will be conducted and questionnaires will be distributed to
understand the effect of water disruption to students in both colleges.

2.0 OBJECTIVES

a) To study the effects of water supply disruption to the residents in eleventh and tenth
college.

b) To acquire information on temporary solution to overcome water disruption.

c) To obtain information on water quality after the water disruption.

d) To promote the good habit of conserving the water among the residents.

e) To raise the awareness of the importance of the water supply in our daily life among
the residents.
3.0 METHOD OF STUDY

Survey study
Residents of 10th and 11th College will be given a survey form. There are 100 sets of
questionnaires will be prepared. The questionnaire mainly focus on the effects of the
disruption of water supply to the residents and the temporary solution to overcome the
disruption of water supply. The questionnaire will also provide the information of the
duration of the disruption of water supply.
Interview
Residents of 10th and 11th College will be interviewed about effects, solution that had
been temporarily taken and the water quality after the water was reinstated.
Observation
Direct observation on the quality of water after it is reinstated was recorded within 15
days at 10th and 11th College. This observation will be conducted alternatively for 3
days during 15 days. The colour, smell, taste, acidity and continuity of water supply
will be observed and recorded.
This is to ensure the presence of impurities could be traced in the water supply. This
observation is important to determine the water quality after it is reinstated.

4.0 EXPECTED OUTCOMES

Students from group B expected some results from the survey which are:
The objectives of this project can be achieved.
Raise the awareness on the importance of water supply in our daily life among the
residents.
Practice the good habit of conserving the water among the residents.
Shortage of the drinking waters burden the residents.
Most of the respondents wish to stay in an environment with clean, safe and adequate
water supply for their basic necessities.
The low/poor quality of water will affect the students health and it may cause the skin
allergy.
The severities of disruption of water supply to the residents can be studied.

5.0 CONCLUSION
In summary, we can obtain the effects of water disruption on residents of both colleges by
distributing the questionnaire. Based on the questionnaire distributed, we can study how
severe the water disruption affecting the residents so that a proper solution can be done by the
authorities. This project is conducted to acquire the temporary solution of the water
disruption problem. Besides, the level of the water quality could be identified. The
importance of awareness of having a good water quality can be implemented to the residents
so that they can maintain and preserve the environment.
