Leadership Simpsonville opens doors for local business men and women with the desire and ability to
shape the future of our vibrant community. Through face-to-face meetings with city, county, and state
leaders and on-site visits to local institutions, agencies, and organizations, participants explore the
major issues and unique challenges facing the Simpsonville area.
Leadership Simpsonville is offered through the Simpsonville Area Chamber of Commerce to any
interested individual who lives or works in Simpsonville. Both Chamber members and non-members are
invited to participate. Monthly meetings kick off with a mandatory Orientation Session in May 2017 and
run until March 2018. The group will be recognized with a graduation ceremony at the Chambers
Annual Banquet.
This dynamic program supports the development of corporate and community leaders by:
Introducing participants to the various aspects of developing and maintaining a vibrant community,
Establishing dialogue with a wide range of community leaders,
Encouraging engagement in activities which contribute to the betterment of the community,
Providing employers with a source of knowledgeable and trained leaders who will have a positive
impact on the business community.
The selection committee looks for applicants who:
Demonstrate a passion for their community as evidenced by active involvement,
Possess a record of achievement in community and civic activities, indicating past and future
leadership ability,
Possess high standards of personal quality and integrity,
Show a dedication to commit the time required for the program, and
If employed, have the endorsement of their employers or some indication the employer would not
object to their taking time from work to participate in the program.

By submitting this application, upon acceptance into the 2016 Leadership Simpsonville program, I agree
to the following:
In order graduate the 2017 program, I understand that I may miss a maximum of one monthly
session (including both emergency and planned absenses). Emergency absences shall be reported to
the class coordinator as soon as possible. I understand that the Chamber Foundation Board will review
the circumstances of any absence and determine if the circumstance is warranted. If I miss more than
one scheduled class session (excused or not), I will be released from the class and will not graduate.
In addition to attending the regular monthly class sessions, I will attend a City or County Council or
school board meeting, participate in ride-a-longs with Simpsonville Police or Fire Departments, and
will complete the class project. I understand that completion of these things will require time outside
of the monthly class sessions.
I will be available for up to two hours outside of class/session time each month for the chosen class
projects implementation.
Class Orientation on May 1-2, 2017 is mandatory.
Sessions will typically fall on the first Tuesday of each month, June 2017 February 2018, but are
subject to changes. Changes will be communicated well in advance of the new date.
Financial Obligations
Tuition for Leadership Simpsonville shall be paid no later than 1:00PM, April 19th, 2017, unless other
arrangements have been made. Payments can be made via cash, check, VISA, or MasterCard.
Late payment of the tuition forfeits program candidacy and placement will be offered to the next
qualified applicant.
I have read, understand, and agree to abide by these requirements if I am admitted to the 2018 class of
Leadership Simpsonville. I furthermore understand that once the application fee and/or tuition is paid,
there is no refund, full or partial.
My employer (if applicable) if aware of the commitment required and agrees to my participation.
