The Employee Relations Advisory (ERA) HR Team are delighted to be able to continue to offer up to 4
hours free training to schools and academies across Buckinghamshire.
Please continue reading to find out more about our upcoming courses and how these support you
alongside our support service packages.

About our training

This concise, practical (and not too serious) workshop, delivered by the Employee Relations Team, will
assist managers in effectively dealing with employee relations (ER) matters on a day to day basis.
The workshop will give knowledge and confidence to managers to assist them in their line
management responsibilities.

Our courses are suitable for

Head Teachers
Members of Senior Leadership Team
Staff with direct line management responsibilities

Core Management Essentials


These two 2 hour Workshops help line managers understand the principles of general HR procedures
and give practical advice on real life situations and best practice ideas on how to maximise the
benefits of following HR policies within the workplace to help managers resolve people issues quickly
and effectively.
Ideally the same delegate should attend both Workshops to maximise the benefits of the training
overall.

Difficult Conversations - Control Emotional and/or Challenging Conversations
This Workshop will provide you with practical advice and guidance to help you to stay in control of
whatever situation comes your way as a line manager.
Receive training to overcome reluctance or inexperience in dealing with emotional or difficult
performance and conduct issues and minimising the risk of employees working less effectively, going
sick or submitting a grievance. Get it right and you can improve levels of performance, attendance and
employee engagement.

Employee Engagement - Focussing on how to Build and Develop Strong Teams in your
Schools.
This Workshop considers what employee engagement is, and its importance in the workplace.
It provides practical advice and guidance on how to identify opportunities to increase employee
engagement and loyalty within your Schools, and will provide you with tools to help measure and
monitor engagement level.

If your school purchases the Employee Relations Core Package you will receive up to 4 hours training
free for one delegate on any course above.

Courses are subject to availability, if you have already used your two free spaces. You will be able to
attend further training sessions at a cost of 90 per session.

Schools & Academies not purchased our Employee Relations Core package can also book a place at
a cost of 90 per session.
