Configuring a Single SAP MMC for

All Systems

Applies to:
All SAP versions higher than 4.6C in Windows platform. For more information, visit the Software Logistics

Summary
This document will help to build a single SAP MMC where all system has been configured. This will create a
single MMC from where we can perform all administrative tasks (shutdown, startup etc.) during maintenance
cycle. This will come in handy during monthly server reboot or similar kind of operations.

Configure One SAP MMC for All Systems


In many cases we have to support different SAP systems (ERP,BI,XI,EP,SRM etc.) with varying landscape.
During maintenance cycle we have to login to each of the system and perform necessary action (for example
shutdown and startup). Instead of that we can configure all systems in a single SAP MMC. Here is the
procedure.

1. Remote login to the system where you want to configure the SAP MMC for all systems.

2. Right click on the SAP Systems then click on the properties.

3. The properties page now opened.

4. Go to the fixed tab.

5. In the system field put the SID(for ex: SMP) of the system which you want to add. In the instance field
write down the hostname and instance number in the <hostname> <instance no.> format (torssmp01 00).

6. Click on the Add button. The values will add in the Instance List.

7. The new value has now showing in the MMC.

8. In this way configure other systems in the same MMC.
