Internal Environment of Ncell

1. Employee: There are around 550 employees (including expats). There is a cultural diversity
among employees. Promotion based on yearly performance review and management
decision is compulsory upon immediate manager approval. Bonus is paid as per Bonus Act
of Nepal. Three month of Statutory Bonus and 10% of net Profit will be allocated to
employee as welfare fund. This all will be applicable only when company runs in profit.
Apart from financial benefits Ncell also runs various motivational and development
programs; one of the key is training to develop employee competencies. Promotion of online
courses, training, and Ncell academy. Ncell also organizes exertion plans as annual family
fun day, holi party and teej party to avoid employee tiredness. Other benefits as accidental

2. Financial Position: Ncell, the countrys first private GSM operator, announced that it would
be spending US $ 100 million (Rs 7.15 billion) in 2011.

Company is in profit and Ncell is largest tax payer in Nepal since last 3 FYs. As per NTA
data (Mangsir, 2073) GSM user of Ncell occupies 49% whereas NTC occupies 46% and
Smart Telecom occupies 5%.

5. Structure: Ncell have Hierarchical organizational structure. Its Managing Director(Simon


Perkins) directs Chief Human Resource Officer, Corporate Communication Manager,
Deputy Chief Technology Officer, Information Communication Technology Director,
Marketing Communication Manager, Mobile Financial Service Manager and these Directors
and Officer directs their subordinates.
6. Policies: There is a system of revising the policy in annual basis. Changes may take place if
required. While reviewing policies, company main objectives are considered with high
priority.
