Presents
Whidbey Island Waldorf School is situated in a
pristine woodland setting surrounded by a land trust
of 100 acres some 31 miles northwest of Seattle,
WA. The school is a community of children,
their parents, teachers and friends coming together
for the education of our children and to serve
the common good in our world.
We offer classes ranging from Parent/Child to
8th Grade, each designed to meet the requirements of
children in each phase of their development.
Teachers typically guide one class through all eight
years of schooling. This long association allows the
creation of a family-like intimacy in the classroom,
nurturing each child--body, soul and spirit--that they
might bring their individual gifts into the future.
Together they journey through an arts-integrated
academic program that recapitulates the social
and cultural development of humankind,
awakening interest in Self and Other.

Program Coordinator
& Instructor:
William Dolde
William grew up in Pittsburgh and Connecticut and
received a B.A. from Yale. In addition to receiving early
childhood credentials at the University of Maryland and
Waldorf certification at Rudolf Steiner College, William
has also taken RIE I training in Los Angeles. He has
taught workshops for parent & child teachers at
Sophia’s Hearth in Keene, NH. He has taught
kindergarten in Maryland and Monterey, as well as
nursery and parent & child classes at the Waldorf
School of Baltimore. He works as a parent coach and
curriculum consultant for an adult education institute.
He finds work with infants, toddlers, preschoolers and
their families rewarding and just right.
His greatest teachers are his sons Liam and Crispin.

Tuition for each 8-week program, whether
Dewdrop (Thursdays) or Rosebud (Fridays) is
$175, plus an addition $25 supplies fee.
Parent-Child Program:
Dewdrop & Rosebud
Whidbey Island Waldorf School offers
on-going multi-week sessions throughout the school
year for parents and their children up to 3 years old.
Our Rosebud and Dewdrop programs create
a warm, nurturing, and supportive environment in
which parents and their children can discover the joy
of family. Parents are guided through child
observations while children are invited to join free
and imaginative play. Circle time offers songs,
verses and movement for parents and children to
experience together. A wholesome snack nourishes
the body and a simple puppet story nourishes the
soul. Parents and teachers thus work together to
create a gentle transition from home to school.
In addition to the weekly playgroups, parent
evenings and articles are offered for parenting
support. Rosebud and Dewdrop parents are also
invited to join the larger school community
during events such as seasonal festivals
and adult education workshops.
