 GLOBAL WARMING

DEFINTION

Global warming is an increase, in time, in the average temperature of the Earth's atmosphere
and the oceans. It is postulated that the temperature has risen since the late nineteenth century
due to human activity, mainly because of the CO2 emissions that increased the greenhouse
effect.

It is also predicted that temperatures will continue to rise in the future if greenhouse gas
emissions continue. The rise in temperature is caused when greenhouse gases accumulate in the
atmosphere and trap heat.

CAUSE

Use of fossil fuels (coal and oil) as sources of energy in industry and transportation.
The excess of forest fires, motivated by the hand of man, contribute in accelerating the
process of global warming.
The burning of fossil fuels, coal, oil and gas, and the destruction of forests, have
become the main causes of the emission of carbon dioxide (CO2), the most dangerous
gas in the greenhouse effect.
Decomposition of the garbage.

CONSEQUENCES

Rise at sea level.

Changes in ecosystems.
Alteration in the production cycle of food.
Extinction of animal and plant species.
Increased temperature and CO2 concentration.
Modification of reproductive cycles of animal and plant species.
Land desertification.
Warming of the tropical and temperate seas.
Intensification of climatic phenomena (hurricanes, storms).
Increase in the population of respiratory diseases and skin.
Melting glaciers.
Increase in floods.
Reduction of drinking wter

HOW TO COMBAT GLOBAL WARMING?

 Use more environmentally friendly means of transport such as a bicycle
Do not burn or deforest the trees
Avoid unnecessary use of electricity
Limit the consumption of water
Avoid the use of aerosols
Educate children on the value of the goods offered by ecosystems
Use LED bulbs
Promote the use of renewable energies

CONCLUSION

In conclusion, we must be aware of the enormous problem that comes to us if we continue to

destroy our environment. Also, it is important to remember that we must enjoy our planet and
also deliver it in good condition our future generations
