learned the process about how things work

and outs of both the financing side and the
construction side, land development, what

with Pulte six years. The last couple of years
I was with them, I was the No. 1 person for

But he began to get restless for a bigger
challenge. I was having the best year of
my career in a down market, Maez said. I
was out in Enchanted Hills in Rio Rancho,
which wasnt the hottest market. I knew my
sales skills were good and my marketing
skills were good. I did marketing above and
beyond what the company would do and
it made a huge difference. But I heard all
these brokers complaining about how tough
huge, and then my marketing background.
I love marketing. I love creative marketing.
Knowing how and where to market a house
has been an important aspect to success,
Maez added. Its always been my passion.
My business card says rainmaker, he said
with a chuckle. I always tell my sellers, My
job is to make it rain. I want to generate
hundreds of leads for their home. You only
need one buyer to buy, but I want to create
as many opportunities when it comes to
marketing. When we sell your house, that
house will not be a secret. Mail marketing,
telemarketing, mediaknowing where to
put stuff, thats important.

initial meeting to discuss the home you en-
vision. But the questions you ask the builder
are equally important to determine if its
going to be a positive partnership.
