Last week we looked at the Renewing of the Covenant and which

Commandments are emphasised that is associated with this concept. We also
looked at the contribution and how that relates to faith. Lastly, we looked at the
importance of intercession and how that brings you into a closer relationship
with YHVH.
This week we have a double Torah Portion that covers from Exo 35 to Exo 40,
concluding the Book of Exodus, ending with the with the Glory of YHVH that fills
the Tabernacle after its construction is complete. Next week we will start with
the Book of Leviticus that deals with the Priesthood and the application of this
newly constructed Tabernacle.
Interesting facts about the Tabernacle:
It is 50 cubits wide and two times 50 cubits long. Five and fifty relate to
YHVHs Grace and we see it three times in the construction of the
Tabernacle. This points to the three areas of grace; the Outer Court
where you receive forgiveness through the sin sacrifice, the Holy Place
that represents your relationship with Yshua and YHVHs Spirit, that
leads to the third place, the Holy of Holies, where you meet the Father
face-to-face.

1
The Tabernacle is ten cubits high and the number ten means completion.
This shows us that if we want to be made complete, we have to enter the
Tabernacle and progress through all three Areas of Grace that leads to a
relationship with the Father, because He is our Goal and our exceedingly
Great Reward, as promised to Abraham.
Three Gates lead to the three Areas of Grace. The number three means
Covenant. His Covenant allows you to progress to these three levels of
maturity; relationship with fellow Believers (Outer Court), relationship with
Yshua (Word) and YHVHs Spirit (Anointing) in the Holy Place, and
leads you into a relationship with the Father. Then you are completely
restored. These three Gates are associated with the three Comings of
Messiah; His First Coming where He did His Redemptive Work, the
Second Coming, where He will gather the Bride, and His Third Coming,
after the thousand-year peace or Winepress. This is when the New
Jerusalem or last Temple will come down from heaven and be
established on the renewed Earth.
The Outer Court is held up by 60 pillars. The numbers 60 and 6 means
man. This reveals the Body of Messiah that consists of Believers in
Messiah, who have access to the Outer Court as well as the outside
world. The Outer Court is covered by white linen, representing the
Holiness of the followers of Messiah, revealing YHVHs light into the
outside world.
The topic of the Tabernacle uses more space in the Scriptures
than any other topic. This makes the Tabernacle something very
important that YHVH really wants us to understand. The
Tabernacle is described in 13 chapters in Exodus, 18 chapters in
Leviticus, 13 chapters in Numbers, 2 in Deuteronomy, and 4
chapters in the New Testament in Hebrews, John and Revelation.
The Tabernacle, specifically the Holy of Holies is in the centre of
the time and space as revealed in the Book by David Flynn, The
Temple at the Centre of Time.
The Tabernacle is known as the Miskan ]ksm and the letters
represent the following:
o Mem m Water / Word of YHVH
o Shin s Fire / Power of the Spirit of YHVH
o Kaf k Hand / Contributions of man
o Nun ] Fish / Fruitfulness
Through the first two letters on the right (Spiritual) we see how YHVH
present His half Shekel or contribution in the Restoration Process, the
Mem / Word and the Shin / Holy Spirit (Anointing). Rearranging the shin
and mem, makes the word Shem ,s that means Name that
represents YHVHs Character.
These letters also represent the fourth Feast, Shavuot (Pentecost) where
the receiving of the Torah m is celebrated and where the Spirit of YHVH
s is poured out.

2
The last two letters on the left (physical), is your half Shekel contribution
which you add to His half Shekel, to make one full contribution to the
Restoration of His Creation. You are to be fruitful (nun ] / fish), becoming
fishers of men, making Disciples (kaf k / hand) of all nations throughout
the world. [Matt 4:19, Matt 28:19]
The name of the first part of this Torah Potion is "Vayakhel, that means, He
assembled. The theme is about the construction of the Tabernacle and YHVHs
Glory of Presence descent upon it. Chapters 35-39 is basically a repeat of
chapters 25-31 that convey the information in the building of the Tabernacle.
Chapters 25-31 was where YHVH instructed Moses on top of Mount Sinai on
how to construct the Tabernacle, and in this Portion, Chapters 35-39, Moses is
relaying this information to the Israelites so that they can execute the
construction. The first mention of the details the phrase; you shall make is
used, and in this Torah Portion from chapter 35 the phrase; and he made is
used. This Portion is almost a word for word repeat of what we read in Chapters
25-31, in a previous Torah Portion but here they actually did the work according
to the plan.

In the Table are the comparisons of the overlaying topics, some make a direct
link to the previous chapter and others make interesting connections that have
insights we can learn from.
#1. Contributions and the Sabbath: The first correlation we see is the link
between the Half Shekel contribution
and the Sabbath. This shows us that the
contributions are made during the
Sabbath when the people gather
together. Heb 10:25 says Not
forsaking the assembling of ourselves
together, as the manner of some is; but
exhorting one another: and so much the
more, as ye see the day (Sabbath)
approaching.
The other interesting thing we see from this comparison is that this Portion
starts with the Sabbath day rest (number #1) and then elaborate on the work,
where the previous Portion begins with work, and then have the Sabbath day
rest later on (number #5). This reveals two different type of believers; the first is
reveals as believers who place their work first and then cannot wait for the
Sabbath to come so that they can rest. They represent believers who are more
physically orientated. The second Portion reveals believers who are more
spiritually orientated, who starts off with the Sabbath day rest, placing it first and
then have the energy and ability to do the work required of them. They spent
time with YHVH first, hearing what He wants and then go and do the work as
required.
#5. The Sabbath & Constructing the Tabernacle: The other comparison we
find in Line #5 where the Sabbath is
connected to the Construction of the
Tabernacle. YHVH Commanded man to
rest on the Sabbath, but here we see
the connection to the building of the
Tabernacle. What is going on? There
are numerous examples in the New
Testament where Yshua worked on
the Sabbath. The question is, did He
break the Law concerning the Shabbat
and is this an example of Him teaching us to break all the Commandments?
The answer is no; He never taught anyone to break the Torah and doing good
deeds on the Sabbath are permitted.
To explain this concept of the Work of Messiah on a Sabbath, we have to go
to the Book of John and where there is one example where He allegedly broke
the Sabbath Commandment, proving the Law is abolished. This is a
misinterpretation of Scripture because Yshua only broke man-made laws and
traditions. The Pharisees build fences with their own commandments to try
and keep people from breaking the Torah. The Pharisees created over 1800
commandments or fences regarding the Sabbath, but there are only a few
Commandments about the Sabbath in Scripture. Let's look at the example in
John.

4
A man was lying at the pool of Bethesda (pool
of kindness), where he suffered for thirty-eight
years from an illness. This pool was well
known for its healing properties, and people
received miracles when in contact with the
water after it moved. The man was unable to
get into the water quick enough after it moved
and he asked Yshua to help him. Yshua
responded by instructing him to take up his
bed and walk.
What is interesting is, that the oral law concerning work on the Sabbath, had
39 precepts of things not to do on the Sabbath and the man was in his 39th
year of his affliction. These 39 laws or precepts were created by listing all the
activities that are required when you would construct a Tabernacle. Can you
see the correlation between keeping the Sabbath and constructing the
Tabernacle in line #5? The instruction Yshua gave the man was breaking the
last or 39th commandment which had to do with forbidding someone to carry
something from one place to another.
Spiritual Insight: In the physical, Yshua asked the man to carry his bed, but
in the spiritual, Yshua took the mans infirmity in the physical and transferred
it to the spiritual, in exchange for healing, which He transferred from the
spiritual to the physical, back into the man. When the Pharisees confronted
Yshua, He told them that His Father is working up to now, and so is He,
implying that there is work happening in the spiritual on the Sabbath. His
answer was like fat on the fire, and they wanted to stone Him.
Q - Did Yshua break the law regarding the Sabbath, yes or no?
No, He did a good work on the Sabbath, which is permitted in Torah. He only
broke the 39th precept of the Pharisees. What we learn from this is that YHVH
uses the Sabbath to do good works within us while we give Him the time to do
so when we rest on the Sabbath. It is like when you sleep, the body recovers
and heals itself while you rest. If you refuse to rest or do not get enough sleep,
then you will not be able to function according to your bodys full capacity.
When you take time off and rest, you enable Him to work in your life,
constructing the Tabernacle in you. This is where He is transferring unwanted
things from your life in the physical, to the spiritual, and replace it with His things
from the spiritual, back into your life. During this set apart time, He exchanges
everything associated with death with life. If you are too busy and do not spend
time in His presence, your body, which is the Tabernacle, will never be
completed to house the fullness of His Presence within you.

5
#7. The Golden Calf & Anointing Oil, Incense and Burnt Offerings: Here the
Anointing Oil, Incense and Burnt
offerings are associated with Golden
Calf worship. As discussed earlier, the
Anointing Oil is for the anointing of the
Priesthood so that they can be allowed
inside the Holy Place where they offered
up incense to YHVH on the Golden Altar
of Incense. This has to do with your
relationship with YHVH. The Burnt
offering or olah offering relates to the
Ark of the Covenant inside the Holy of Holies, which is your prayers and
relationship with the Father. What is interesting is that the Menorah (Holy Spirit)
and Showbread (Word of YHVH) is not mentioned here. The absence thereof
indicates that the making the Anointing Oil, Incense and Burnt offerings, are not
according to the Word of YHVH, or under the guidance of His Spirit. This makes
it foreign service or worship (avodah zerah), which He did not command.
Without the foundation of His Word and the revealing light of His Spirit, you can
easily end up creating your own form of worship which is none other than Idol
Worship, which has serious repercussions.
#9. Tabernacle outside the Camp & Materials for the Tabernacle:
The connection between the Tabernacle
outside the Camp and the Materials for
the Tabernacle show us that the
materials to construct this Tabernacle
will be found outside the Camp,
coming from the nations and YHVH is
enlarging His Tent according to the
prophecy in Isaiah 54.

Isa 54:1-3 Shout for joy, O barren one, you who have borne no
child; Break forth into joyful shouting and cry aloud, you who
have not travailed; For the sons of the desolate one will be more
numerous than the sons of the married woman," says YHVH.
2"Enlarge the place of your tent; Stretch out the curtains of your

dwellings, spare not; Lengthen your cords and strengthen your

pegs. 3"For you will spread abroad to the right and to the left. And
your descendants will possess nations and will resettle the desolate
cities.
This prophecy reveals that YHVH will use the barren one, which are the people
coming from the nations. YHVH told Israel to enlarge Her Tent because the
barren ones offspring will be more in number than the married woman or
Israels offspring. Israels descendants will inherit the nations coming from the
barren one. This prophecy is talking about Israel that consists of two women;
the married woman, Judah and the barren one, which is Ephriam, together they
will be one stick in the hand of Messiah the King Who will rule over Israel
(righteous people of Elohim).

#12. The Renewed Covenant & the Tabernacle erected and furnished: This
is part of the timeframe related to the
first Work of Messiah where He came to
renew the Covenant and created the
concept of the living Tabernacle made
up of Believers in Messiah, making up
the Body of Messiah. Not only does the
Believers in Messiah construct and form
the structure of the Tabernacle, but
through the anointing and gifts of the
Spirit they furnish the Tabernacle with
every piece of furniture required to fulfil every function necessary to restore or
renew YHVHs Creation. During this process, those who Contribute (half shekel
pattern), grow into a closer relationship with YHVH and He reveals Himself to
them as they pull together, being yoked with Messiah, preparing the ground
establishing and restoring YHVHs Kingdom.
#13. Moses face shining and the Cloud and the Glory: Moses face was
shining because he was in the presence
of YHVH for 40 days. This happened
during the time or the renewing of the
Two Tablets and the Covenant. We find
two NT passages referring to Yshuas
face shining; in Matthew 17:2 His face
shone like the sun on the Mount of
Transfiguration and in Revelation 1:14
His eyes are like fire.
Shine is the word qaran that
means to shine and horns. This word is used in Psalm 69:31:
This also shall please YHVH better than an ox or bullock that has
horns and hoofs.
This verse can be translated (using verbal root words) and reads as follows:

[This will please] yatab- [YHVH] - [more] -yatab

[walls] showr- [broken down] par [shine / glory] qaran-
[divided / as bread to the poor] parac
This gives the following translation:
This will please YHVH more if the dividing walls are broken down
and His Glory can be divided among those who are hungry.
What is most fascinating is that Psalm 69 is a prophetic Psalm describing the
suffering of Messiah Yshua when He died on the stake/cross. In verse 21 it
speaks about the vinegar they gave Him to drink. Verse 29 reads; But I am
poor and sorrowful: let thy salvation, O Elohim, set me up on high.
Translating the words literally is as follows:

[But I am poor] aniy - [and sorrowful] ka'ab - [let thy salvation]

yshuw`ah - [O God] elohiym - [set me up on high]
sagab

7
First of all, we see the name of the One Who will be exalted or set on high
(glorified), Who is Elohim or God. When He was on the stake/cross, He was
poor and sorrowful when He gave His life for humanity.
.

Psa 69:35-36 For Elohim will save Zion, and will build the cities of
Judah: that they may dwell there, and have it in possession. 36 The
seed also of His servants shall inherit it: and they that love His
Name shall dwell therein.
The seed of His servants are His adopted sons or Bondservants, those who
love His Name will inherit the cities of Judah (Jerusalem) and dwell therein.
Q What is His Name?
This is found between the name Elohim and Zion, in the phrase, will save, that
is yasa that means; deliverer, defend, rescue, bring salvation and
saviour. This name is a personal name that saves individuals on a personal

level, where the individual is represented by the letter vav that means man.
When you insert the individual inside the name yasa it becomes the Name
Yshau, the actual Name of the Saviour and Deliverer, the Name the
Bondservants shall love and the Name through which thy will inherit and be part
of the Kingdom. This corresponds with the phrase, to be in Messiah Yshua,
Who becomes your personal Saviour, not just the Saviour yasa you heard
about.

Order of YHVH
This Portion starts off with the Sabbath
regulations and then the instructions for
constructing the Tabernacle by the people of
Israel.
Q Which is more important, the Sabbath or
the physical Tabernacle?
The one is defined by a set apart time, and
the other is defined by a set apart space,
one one is spiritual where the other is physical. YHVH explicitly instruct them
not to work on the Sabbath during the construction of the physical Tabernacle,
making the Sabbath more important or holy than the physical Tabernacle.
Q What did Yshua say about the Temple?
We read in Matt 21:12 and John 2:16 about the incident where Yshua got upset
with the people defiling the Temple by using it as a place to trade. He called it
His Fathers House and that it is to be a House of prayer, not trade. Through His
actions, it 's obvious He placed the Temple in high regard that makes it
incredibly Holy because it is a place where you can meet with His Father. This
makes the Temple / Tabernacle a very holy place and makes the Sabbath even
more holy.
Q What is more important, the Sabbath or the people?

8
Yshua said in Mark 2:27 that the Sabbath was made for man and not man for
the Sabbath. You could also circumcise your son on a Sabbath as well as
preserve life and do good to someone else on a Sabbath. All of this indicates
that man is more important than the Sabbath.
We have already established that the Sabbath is more important than the
Tabernacle and now we see man is more important than the Sabbath, making
man more important than the Tabernacle / Temple. Imagine there was a
Temple in Jerusalem today and you are to visit and enter the Temple. You
would be in awe of its majesty and be very careful not to damage or defile
anything in any way, as you walk through and enjoy its beauty and respect it as
the House of the Father. How much more should we respect the Sabbath and
even more than the Sabbath, should we respect fellow believers in Messiah.
We should walk in love, careful how we interact, not to damage, belittle or defile
anyone who is part of the Body of Messiah.

The Veil Concealing &

Revealing
Exo 26:31-33 You shall make a veil
woven of blue, purple, and
scarlet thread, and fine woven linen. It
shall be woven with an artistic design of
cherubim. 32 You shall hang it upon the
four pillars of acacia wood overlaid with
gold. Their hooks shall be gold, upon
four sockets of silver. 33 And you shall
hang the veil from the clasps. Then you shall bring the ark of the
Testimony in there, behind the veil. The Veil shall be a divider for
you between the Holy Place and the Most Holy.
The way to enter into the Holy of Holies is through the Veil, and the way to
come to the Father is through Yshua as revealed in the Book of Hebrews.
Heb 10:19 Therefore, brethren, having boldness to enter the
Holiest by the blood of Yshua, 20 by a new and living way which He
consecrated for us, through the veil, that is, His flesh.
The author of Hebrews teaches that the Veil is the flesh of Messiah, and if we
study the Veil, then we will know something deeper of Yshua. We find more
information about the Veil in the Book of Numbers, specifically in the use of the
Veil when the Tabernacle is packed up and transported to the next location as
they travelled through the Wilderness.
Num 4:5 When the camp prepares to journey, Aaron and his sons
shall come, and they shall take down the covering Veil and cover the
Ark of the Testimony with it. 6 Then they shall put on it a covering of
badger skins, and spread over that a cloth entirely of blue; and they
shall insert its poles.

9
Spiritual Insight: The Ark of the Covenant was the central object of the
Tabernacle and was to be covered or concealed by the Veil. On the Veil were
depictions of the Cheribum, similar to the Cheribum that were on the Ark of
the Covenant. The Veil concealed but also revealed the Ark at the same
time. The Veil symbolised the real which is concealed. The Ark represented
the very Presence of YHVH, the place from where He spoke to His people.
The flesh of Yshua reveals YHVH to us and house the very Presence of
His fulness. When Yshua walked the earth, He was the One through Whom
YHVH spoke to His people.
When they transported the Tabernacle, the Ark was covered or concealed by
the Veil, skins and a blue covering. In the same way did Yshuas flesh cover
and concealed the Father and they that saw Yshua, actually saw the Father.
When Yshua gave up His last breath, the Veil tore in two symbolising His
death. Just like the flesh of Yshua carried the Presence of the Father
amoung His people, in the same way, is the Presence of Yshua carried
within the Body of Messiah. When we come together in unity, we complete
the fullness of Messiah in our midst, making us similar to the Veil, concealing
and revealing the Messiah here on earth.

The Marriage Covenant & the Restored Bride

It was YHVH's intent to liberate (yasa) Israel and to assemble (vayak'hel) them
to Him as a nation at Mount Sinai. This process represented them entering into
a Marriage Covenant with YHVH, so that they could be in relationship with Him.
We saw the same language used in Isa 54:1 where YHVH calls Israel (who
rebelled) the sons of the married woman. Then He refers to the barren one,
which is made up of restored Israel as well as people from the nations who
became bondservants through adoption, meeting Messiah as their personal
Saviour, who is Yshua . Then they entered into the Renewed Covenant
through Him (First Work of Messiah), and become part of the Restored Bride,
who will be gathered at the end of the Second Work of Messiah. This allows the
sons of the barren one (nations), to inherit the Kingdom with the sons of the
married woman (original Israel or Judah), becoming part of the Restored Bride
(Judah + Ephriam = Two Sticks of Eze 37). There is a teaching out there that
teaches that the Bride of Messiah (Church) replaced the Bride or YHVH (Israel /
Jews), but this contradicts Eze 37 prophecy and is not true.
To understand the Book of Exodus, we have to look at the underlying principle
of the Marriage, and this Covenant consists of two parts or steps. These steps
are prophetic and create the pattern of how YHVH will extend this Covenant ( a
function of Renewed Covenant), to the nations, to include everyone and call
them into becoming part of the Restored Bride as He intended when He dwelled
with man in the Garden of Eden.
Some of you might already be familiar with the concept of the Mariage
Covenant (Hebrew Marriage), but we need to highlight a few aspects in context
with this Torah Portion to understand the overall Plan of YHVH for Israel and
the nations, in the framework of the Tabernacle.

10
Here is a brief outline of the Book of Exodus:
First Stage:
Exo 19: YHVH Proposed to Israel.
Exo 20-23: This Proposal is known as the Covenant that is contained
within the Ten Commandments. The Book of Leviticus reveals more
details regarding the Covenant and its terms.
Exo 24: Israel accepted the Proposal. Israel has officially entered into the
first part of the Marriage Covenant with YHVH, known as the
engagement. (We will look at the Hebrew Marriage in more detail later
in this study).
Exo 25-31: YHVH revealed His plan and started with the preparation of
the House so that He could live with His people.
YHVH instructed Moses to build the Tabernacle.
Exo 32-34: Major Interruption! - Israel sinned against YHVH and Moses
intercedes. The Tabernacle moved outside the Camp.
Exo 35-39: YHVH punished Israel and then forgave them.
Second Stage:
The Tablets, Covenant and the Bride are Restored. The building of the
House continues, and Moses constructs the Tabernacle as planned.
Exodus 40: The glory of YHVH descends upon the Tabernacle, and He
dwell with His people. The end of Exodus.

First Stage: The first stage of the

Marriage starts as soon as a
betrothal contract (shitre erusin) is
made between the two parties.
This written agreement is called a
ketubah. During the
engagement, you are legally
married but do not physically living
together. This is what we know as
being engaged. The betrothal
(engagement) is legally binding
and cannot be annulled except
through a divorce.
This part of the Marriage is associated with a Contract or Covenant between a
man and a woman and has conditions to protect this relationship and give
guidelines on how to make this relationship successful. In our modern
understanding, we know this as Marriage vows, and in the time of Moses, it was
the Ten Words or Ten Commandments the Bride agreed to. This Contract was
accepted by Israel (Bride) at Mount Sinai. The smoke and cloud that descended
upon the Mountain made the canopy or Chuppa. The ancient Rabbis taught
that YHVH reached out from the heavenly at Mt. Sinai and kissed the face of
Israel under His Chuppa/cloud that covered Mt. Sinai.
This stage was interrupted before He could proceed to the second stage of the
Marriage Covenant. Ideally, Exodus 32-34 would not be part of the story; we
would move straight from Chapter 31 to Chapter 35 if it were not for the sin of
idol worship took place when Aaron mad the Golden Calf. This a massive
disruption, nearly a story-ending, Israel-exterminating interruption.

11
YHVH dealt with the disruption and started His Plan all over again, renewing the
Tablets, the Covenant and His Bride. This restoration work was done through
the First Work of Messiah, and part of this Renewed Covenant also included the
desolate woman or the nations. This corresponds with the parable in Luke
regarding the Kingdom of YHVH and the interruption caused by the keepers of
His vineyard:
Luke 20:9-19 He went on to tell the people this parable: A man
planted a vineyard, rented it to some farmers and went away for a
long time. At harvest time he sent a servant to the tenants so they
would give him some of the fruit of the vineyard. But the tenants
beat him and sent him away empty-handed. He sent another
servant, but that one also they beat and treated shamefully and sent
away empty-handed. He sent still a third, and they wounded him
and threw him out. Then the owner of the vineyard said, What shall
I do? I will send my son, whom I love; perhaps they will respect
him. But when the tenants saw him, they talked the matter over.
This is the heir, they said. Lets kill him, and the inheritance will be
ours. So they threw him out of the vineyard and killed him. What
then will the owner of the vineyard do to them? He will come and
kill those tenants and give the vineyard to others.
He gave the Vineyard to the Bride when He
established His Covenant at Mount Sanai.
They rebelled and sinned gainst the Owner of
the Vineyard and beat up and killed His
Prophets. Then He sent His own Son to bring
His Plan back on track, but they killed Him.
This act of the enemy, YHVH turned into good,
and it bacame the First Work of Messiah. Through this Work He would restore
the Bride and Renew the Covenant He initially established with Israel. He also
increased the Bride by including the barren one [Isa 54]. Through her He
added more people to His Kingdom (Vineyard). These are the ones who love
His Name (yasa) [Psa 69], and come into the Kingdom through the First Work of
Messaih Yshua, the Deliverer and Saviour.
Second Stage: The second stage of the marriage is when the Groom will come
to gather (vayak'hel) His Bride. This happens after the
husband has built a house for him and his new wife to
live in. This second stage, prophetically came into
being when David (Beloved Groom) ruled as King of
Jerusalem after they have possessed the Promised
Land. This was when the Temple, the permanent
structure of the House of YHVH was built so that
YHVH could dwell among His people.
The Second Stage of the Marriage only took place
after a significant interruption with Israel committing
spiritual adultery, worshipping the Golden Calf. This is
a similar pattern where YHVHs Creation was interrupted by Adam and Chavah
(Eve) disobeyed YHVH. After that YHVH started with the Restoration of His
Creation, which includes this storyline in Exodus, where YHVH is Restoring His
Relationship with humanity, which is the Marriage Covenant.
