Reflection for math lesson (30 -40)

Before I prepare my lesson plan, I sit with teacher sumaya and discuss with her the which
lesson that she will teach them on Sunday. She tells me that she will let them identify the big
digit from 30 to 40 and she will teach the how they can add small digit such as 2, 2,3 or 4 to
the biggest digit.

After the breakfast period, I give my MST my lesson plans, and I start my lesson at 10:55
am and this period specific for math and science. I sit with students in circle time, and I let
them jump from 1 to 10. Then, I let them jump from 10 to 20 and from 20 to 30. And from 30
to 40. Then, I put to them a video about the number to let them engaged. Moreover, I ask
them a question to check their prior knowledge and to let them connect the previous
knowledge with a new lesson. Then, I teach them using a white boards and marker how they
can write the numbers from 31 to 39. Also, I choose students to write it in the board using a
different color of markers. Then I chose another student to create the number 36 or 38 using
magnets number and stick it in white board. So, when the students understood and identified
how to write the big numbers, I taught them how to add a small digit to 31 to 39.

I prepared 3 activities to group time and two activities for circle area. I explain the
activities in circle area to I let each group to understood their activities and what should they
do when they move from carpets to tables. Then, I make transition, and I let them move
quietly to the table. So, I let the high group cut the numbers from the bottom and order the
number from 30 t0 40. The students will develop their domains such as physical and
cognitive domains when they cut and stick. Also, I let the medium group add small digit such
as (2, 3, 4, 5) to big digit such as (31, 32, 34, 35). So, the student will learn to add, and they
will cut the correct answer from the paper using plastic scissors. But, I let the low level to
collage the numbers using clay. Then I let rotation by switching between two groups and let
each group do 3 activities during 20 min.

I close the lesson by letting the students go to the circle area and take their worksheets. So,
I let each student talk about their work and what they learn from these lessons. So, I scaffold
what I taught them during 45 min in 10 min.

I think my lesson was successful because I make different activities for circle time and
grouping area that meets the students needs. Also, I let the students put their work in
displaying are to let them feel independent and be proud that learn new thing, and they talk
about their work.
