Target Goal or Skill: Students will be able to find the area of an object and accurately
multiple 2 digit numbers

Topical question(s): What is the area of different objects around the room?

Instructional SWBAT accurately measure objects


Objective(s): SWBAT accurately find the area of an object
SWBAT multiply 2 digit numbers to find the area.

Activity 25min
Students will each be given an object in the class room to
measure. Then will present their measurements to their
peers to fill in on their papers
Closure: Students will then calculate their numbers to find the area
of the objects.
Students who finish first will pick an index card with real
life examples of finding area. Ex: finding the area of a room
so you know how much carpet to buy.
Exit Slip last 5 min
Students will verbally present the area of their object or
index card.
