follow in the footsteps of Jesus. Drive to our hotel in
Jerusalem.
Day3Sunday,Nov.12:Jerusalem
ThismorningwewilldrivetoBethlehemwherewewillvisit
andtheNativityChurchwhichwasbuiltbytheEmperor
Constantineinthe4thcenturyabovethetraditionalGrotto
of Jesus' birth. Also tour the Manger, the Grotto of St.
Jerome,theChurchofSt.Catherine,theMilkGrottowhere
wewillcelebrateMassandtheShepherd'sFields.Wewill
then proceed to the Israel Museum in the New City of
JerusalemwherewewillseeascalemodelofJerusalemas
itappeared2,000yearsago.ThencontinueontoEinKarem
toseetheVisitationChurchwhereMaryproclaimedher
famous"Magnificat"andtheChurchofSt.JohntheBaptist
whereSt.JohntheBaptistwasborn.
Day4Monday,Nov.13:Jerusalem
ThismorningwewilldrivetothetopoftheMt.ofOlives
for a spectacular view of Jerusalem. Visit the Church of
PaterNosterwhereJesustaughttheLordsprayertohis
Disciples and the Chapel of Ascension where Jesus
ascended into Heaven forty days after his resurrection.
Thenwalkalongthe"PalmSundayRoad"toDominusFlevit
where Our Lord wept over Jerusalem. Continue to the
GardenofGethsemaneandtheChurchofAllNationsfor
MassontheRockofAgony.Thisafternoon,entertheOld
City of Jerusalem through St. Stephen's Gate. Visit the
Church of St. Anne where the Blessed Virgin Mary was
born, the Pool of Bethesda where Jesus healed the
paralyticman,theChapelofFlagellation,Lithostrotos,and
Archofthe"EcceHomo".ThenfollowtheViaDolorosato
theChurchoftheHolySepulchretovisitGolgothaandthe
TomboftheRisenSavior.
Day5Tuesday,Nov.14:Jerusalem
ThismorningwewillviewtheTempleAreaoftheOldCity
of Jerusalem featuring the Dome of the Rock, el Aqsa
Mosque and the Wailing Wall. We will then enter the
restored Jewish Quarter and walk along the excavated
Cardo, once a main street of ancient Jerusalem. Enjoy
touringtheHerodianMansions,acomplexofvillasfrom
2,000yearsago.Thisafternoon,drivetoMt.Zionwherewe
willcelebrateMassattheFranciscanChapelattheCenacle.
ThenvisittheUpperRoomwhereJesuscelebratedtheLast
Supper, Dormition Abbey where Mary fell into eternal
sleep,andSt.PeterinGallicantuwherePeterdeniedJesus
threetimes.Thiseveningwewillhaveanopportunityto
attendaHolyHouratGethsemane.
Day6Wednesday,Nov.15:Jerusalem
AfteranearlyMassattheChurchoftheHolySepulchrewe
willreturntoourhotelforbreakfast.Followingbreakfast,
proceedtoJericho,theoldestknowncityintheWestern
world. From the top of the ancient "tel", we'll have an
excellentviewofElisha'sFountain,theQarantalandthe
MountofTemptation.ThenproceedtoQumrantoseethe
caves where the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered.
Afterwardswewillhaveanopportunitytotakeadipinthe
salty, mineral laden waters of the Dead Sea before
returning to Jerusalem. This evening a special "Farewell
Jerusalem"dinnerwillbearrangedinourhonoratatypical
MiddleEasternrestaurant.
Day7Thursday,November16:Jerusalem/Tiberias
DepartJerusalemanddrivetoBethanytovisitthesiteof
the home of Mary, Martha & Lazarus and the Tomb of
Lazarus.AfterMassinBethanywewilldrivenorththrough
the Judean Wilderness north through the Jordan River
ValleytoBetSheanwherewe'llexploretheextraordinary
excavationsofanancientRomancity.Continueontothe
BaptismalSiteontheJordanRiverwherewewillhavean
opportunitytorenewourbaptismalvows.Thendriveonto
Tiberiasforcheckinatourhotellocatedontheshoresof
theSeaofGalilee.
Day8Friday,Nov.17:Tiberias
ThismorningwewillenjoyascenicboatrideacrosstheSea
of Galilee to Capernaum, home of Our Lord during his
ministry, where we will visit the synagogue where He
taught and spend some time in prayer. Then we will
proceedtoTabgha,siteofthemultiplicationoftheloaves
and fishes, and to the nearby Church of the Primacy of
Peter.ThendriveuptotheMt.oftheBeatitudesforMass
atthesiteoftheSermonontheMount.Thisafternoon,
ascendingtheGolanHeightswe'llstopattheBaniasSpring
thatrisesfromunderacaveandisoneofthesourcesof
the Jordan River. It was here near Banias at ancient
CaesareaPhilipiwherePetermadehisconfessionoffaith
inJesus.OvernightinTiberias.
Day9Saturday,Nov.18:Tiberias
Followingbreakfast,wewilldrivetoCanaofGalilee,where
OurLordperformedthefirstmiraclechangingwaterinto
wine at the wedding feast. Here, we'll invite couples to
renewtheirweddingvows.WewillthenproceedtoOur
Lords boyhood town, Nazareth. Here we will celebrate
Mass at the Basilica of the Annunciation, visit Joseph's
WorkshopandMarysWell.Thentakeanexcursiontothe
summitofMt.TabortoseethesiteoftheTransfiguration
ofJesus.
Day10Sunday,Nov.19:Tiberias/TelAviv
This morning we will depart Tiberias and drive to the
sparklingportcityofHaifawherewewillascendMount
Carmel,homeoftheprophetsElijahandElisha,forMassat
StellaMaris.ThencontinuealongtheMediterraneancoast
toancientCaesareawhereSt.PeterpreachedandSt.Paul
wasimprisonedfortwoyears.Herewewillvisittheruins
of the Roman Theater, the Crusader's Moat and the
ByzantineChurches.OurdrivecontinuestoourhotelinTel
Aviv.
