August 2013- present: Loudoun County Public Schools - Special Education Teacher

I am currently a cross categorical special education teacher at Sully Elementary School. My responsibilities
include:

continually assessing student achievement and maintaining appropriate assessment and evaluation
documentation
Planning and implementing appropriate instructional and/or learning strategies and activities

Managing the behavior of learners to ensure that the environment is conducive to the learning process

Coordinating instructional activities with other professional staff to maximize learning opportunities

plans, implementation of behavior intervention plans, data collection including behavior and academic data,

September 2011-August 2013: Loudoun County Public Schools - Substitute Teacher

Substitute teacher for the Loudoun County Public Schools. I substituted at elementary schools throughout the
area. I subbed in both special education and regular classrooms. I spent the majority of my time at Steuart
Weller Elementary School in the Intensive Behavior Services (IBS) classroom and the Early Childhood Special
Education Autism (ECSEA) classrooms.

October 2009 - June 2011: Department of Defense Education Activity- Substitute Teacher

Substitute teacher for the Department of Defense on-post schools at Fort Benning, Columbus, GA. I substituted
at various elementary schools as well as the middle school. As a substitute, I filled in for teachers in all aspects
of the school system such as special education, dedicated aide, reading, paraeducator, teacher's assistant, etc. I
spent a majority of my time in a kindergarten class assisting a special needs (Down's Syndrome) student.

I worked as a teaching assistant for Lydia Hawk Elementary School in Olympia, Washington. I worked as part
of a team in the integrated (inclusive) preschool class. This class combined both typical preschoolers and
special needs preschoolers. I was responsible for working with students age three to five in a special education
setting to enhance their educational experience.

As a consultant, I was involved in a project for the Customer Education and Integration Services Division to
update the Investor Accounting Managers Users Manual. My responsibilities include becoming familiar with
the content, reviewing existing documentation and software, meeting with subject matter experts, developing
and revising content, and instituting modular documentation strategies.

Apr 2002 to Oct 2002: Instructional Designer, Northrup Grumman


As an instructional designer, my responsibilities included front-end analysis of the job or task to be trained,
media selection, writing objectives to support the analysis, designing lesson materials and test items,
determining course content, and developing programs of Instruction (POIs) and interactive courseware
storyboards for web and computer-based training. Other responsibilities included conducting photo/video
shoots, graphic selection, evaluating and validating instructional materials, and working with subject matter
experts and other training team members to ensure the training program success. I worked on an Army training
project designed to provide small arms training to Army reserve personnel via CD-ROM and the Internet. I also
worked on an antiterrorism project to design CD-ROM training on Force Protection for the Army Reserves.

Apr 2000 to Apr 2002: Instructional Technologist Consultant, SAIC


Course Design and Development. I worked as an instructional technologist consultant on a course called the
Financial Underpinnings of Terrorism Course. The course is designed for criminal investigators and
prosecutors who are responsible for the investigation and prosecution of schemes to finance terrorist operations,
and for assisting in the investigations and prosecutions by other nations. My duties as a consultant include:
reviewing lesson descriptions and writing performance objectives,
working with Subject Matter Experts to help them design lessons based on sound instructional principles,
reviewing Subject Matter Experts course materials,
producing instructor guides, viewgraphs and other course materials.
monitoring lesson production and other materials to ensure that they adhere to the course Program of
Instruction (POI).
