Grease Filter Unit

The KSK grease filter unit is mainly used for air
exhaust for light-duty cooking, steamers, kettles and
other processes with low heat emission levels.
High-efficiency grease filtration using UL- and NSF-
classified KSA multi-cyclone filters - removing up to
95% of particles with a size of 8 microns or above
Exhaust airflow measurement and control using the
in-built adjustment damper located in the extract
spigot(s) and the T.A.B. testing and balancing tap
Stainless steel (AISI 304), welded construction

Function Construction

The KSK filter unit is positioned above the equipment
to collect the rising warm airflow (1) and impurities
within the casing. This contaminated air is exhausted
from the space through the KSA grease filters (2) into
the exhaust air duct.
Grease and other contaminants are separated from
the exhaust air in the grease filter according to the
cyclone separation principle, and they are drained via a
channel toward the collection tap/tray (3).
The exposed parts of the casing are manufactured
from polished stainless steel (AISI 304) and the
unexposed parts from galvanised steel.
The unit comprises duct connections, airflow dampers
and a measurement tap.
The joints of the lower edges are fully welded and
polished to ensure water-tightness.
The grease and dirt extracted by the filters can be
removed from the filter unit either via a drain tap or by
emptying the collection tray.

Suggested specifications

General Grease filters

The filter units shall be constructed mainly from
stainless steel AISI 304 except for the top panel of the
plenum, which is to be of galvanised steel.
The filter unit shall be supplied complete with outer
casing / main body, pressure measurement tap,
extract air spigot connections with airflow damper,
grease filters, drain tap or collection tray and assembly
brackets.
The grease filters shall be supplied in modular size
500 x 330 x 50 mm and shall be removable via two
folding handles.
The UL - and NSF -classified grease filters shall be
constructed from stainless steel (AISI 304).
The grease filters shall have a honeycomb design to
enable high grease filter efficiency due to the vortex
flow within the honeycomb.

Pressure measurement taps Spigot connections

The pressure measurement taps shall be located on
the side of the filter unit.
The spigot connections for exhaust air shall be of
galvanised steel and shall be supplied with a gasket
and airflow adjustment damper also manufactured
from galvanised steel.
The exhaust damper shall be adjustable, and access to
it occurs through the removal of the KSA grease
filters.
