To Whom It May Concern,

Becoming an elementary teacher has been my dream since Kindergarten. During my elementary years, I had
exceptional teachers in the Poway Unified School District who made a huge impact on my life. I am very excited to
return to PUSD and I strive to make that same impact in each one of my students' lives!

Last year, I graduated Summa Cum Laude from the Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College at Arizona State University
with a 4.0 GPA. The renowned iTeachAZ Teacher Preparation Program allowed me to confirm my passion while
student teaching in a second grade classroom at Kyrene de la Paloma Elementary School. There, I took on all
responsibilities of my mentor teacher including planning and teaching all subject areas, attending professional
development, and participating in parent teacher conferences.

This year, I had the amazing opportunity to teach Physical Education at Willow Grove Elementary School. With the
implementation of the SPARK curriculum and other tools, I focused my instruction on teamwork, sportsmanship,
and participation. It was an amazing year and I was also able to substitute throughout PUSD in Transitional-
Kindergarten through eighth grade classrooms.

Although I enjoyed teaching PE and substituting, my heart belongs in an elementary classroom. As a teacher, I
believe the best classroom includes a sense of community and a welcoming learning environment. I enjoy preparing
interactive, standard-driven lesson plans that foster movement, technology, and integration of the arts to reach all
students. I hold all of my students to high expectations while differentiating for different learning styles, needs, and
cultures. Through my education and experience, I have learned how to manage a challenging and demanding
classroom. I have had the opportunity to teach English Language Learners, students with special needs, gifted
students, and children from many diverse socioeconomic backgrounds. I have completed my California certification
and English learner authorization.

My active teaching style and personality also extends outside of the classroom. I was involved in ASB throughout
high school and had the opportunity to plan school spirit days, events, and dances. I would love to share my
experience and spread school spirit by getting involved with the student council. In addition, six years with PUSD
ESS has given me experience working with children outside of school. This has helped me develop strong
relationships with my students and understand how to keep them interested and active.

I am excited to enter into this profession with high expectations for all students and a spirit of teamwork. Thank you
for considering me as a dedicated member of your team! I look forward to hearing from you.
