Project Title: The Diversity Film Project

Group Members: Daniel Farmer, Daniella Garzon, Christine Hennessey

Part One: Executive Summary Overview
Vision Statement: Through the use of interactive and social media, we will create a video that
will start conversations about, and create awareness of diversity.
Problem Addressed: The lack of awareness concerning diversity and the lack thereof on the
Universitys campus.
Target Audience: Our target audience is the student body, and we hope to reach them through our
video reaching a viral level.
SMART Goals:

By the end of February, a full script will be written. By the middle of March, all filming
is done.
By the beginning of April, all editing will be done.
Video will be released mid-April.

Use Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and any other forms of social media to spread the video

As it is related to Voices of UD, we do not intend to reflect a particular individuals opinion or

experience, but show people what they may not have noticed or be paying attention to.
While success will be hard to measure prior to releasing the video, we will look to peers and
advisors to review our information for feedback prior to releasing it. We are also aiming for at
least 500 views by the end of the academic year.
Part Three: 5 Exemplary Practices of Leadership
Model the Way: Create a viral video.
Inspire a Shared Vision: Show the benefits and need for diversity.
Challenge the Process: The issue addressed is often the elephant in the room, and can be difficult
to face.
Encourage the Heart: Create an avenue for students who have been concerned about this issue
assurance that there are other people who care, and want to impact it. It will also bring the UD
community together around a common problem.
Enable Others to Act: This video ought to be a catalyst for people to have conversations about
diversity at UD.
Part Four: Campus Partners and Resources
Budget: N/A
Campus Partners:

Library/Media Center for filming materials

RSOs on campus that will help to spread the video
*possibility of BHLP workshop in the future; however, we feel as if this would only be
beneficial post-release of the video so as for us to be able to discuss it/ask if the audience
has seen it, etc.
Part Five: Assessment
We will be able to gauge how many people our video has reached based on the number of views,
and additional feedback can be gained from any potential comments. Also, simply asking the UD
community if they have or have not seen it would tell us how many people it has reached (for
example, standing in Trabant for an hour asking passerbys if they have seen it).
We can say our project is sustainable because 1) the video will be online forever and 2) if we do
create a workshop, it can become a regular part of the BHLP program.
