Thesis statement : Social networking sites are threat for

personal privacy.

Pro arguments

1-Major -We are sharing our daily lives and pictures related
with it.

1-Minor -We are sharing our ideas and giving the information
about where we study,work,live and sometimes even what we
eat and also sharing pictures about it. Everyone can find these
documents on our profile and almost there is no restriction
about it. For example, we are usually using sites such as
facebook,twitter etc. and someone who needs information
about us can just click our names on these sites and see all our
history on that site.

2-Minor - Because of everyone can easily reach and download

our pictures and other informations about us, they can use
them to fraud by opening new accounts with our pictures and
names on social media websites .

There are some statistics to shows us what we shared (Madden

et al. , 2012):

91% post a photo of themselves

71% post their school name,.

71% post the city or town where they live

53% post their email address

20% post their cell phone number

2-Major In some emotinal cases We may share/write

disturbing things which arent representing us and it may
trouble in future.

1-Minor We are using social media to expressing ourselves but

when we are so angry it can cause unwanted problems. For
example, some migrants attacked us and stole our money. That
night, we wrote i hate migrants. We should send them back
and share it. After that, maybe our feelings changed and we are
relieved but that comment still on social media and everyone
thinks we really hate migrants but actually we dont.

2-Minor Most of us hate some politicians. We may even cant

stand to listen them. If we are insult them on internet it not only
cause to get reaction also it may result in imprisonment.

-Counter Arguments and Refutations

-C.Argument -It wont be threat if you wont share you private

moments.

Ref:Sharing our moments is exact purpose of using social

media.People use it tos hare their ideas and pictures to feel
more social.

-C.Argument -There are laws that protecting us.

-Ref: People arent afraid of just others, ther are also afraid of
governments. Also despite the laws, hacker can stil reach our
private informations by using illegal ways. For instance, hackers
can store our all chat history without permission and they can
exploit it.

-C.Argument -Sometimes governments violation of privacy can

be beneficial for national security.

-Ref: Nothing is worth to being observed all the time. Moreover,

organized crime gang or terrorist groups usually dont use social
media to communicate because even they know governments
are monitoring it.
