What is Copyright?
Copyright is a form of protection, Copyright is where your work cant be used without
your/individuals permission. You get copyright in six individual ways. Photography/Illustration,
Non-Literary work (Web Written works), Audio (Diegetic) and recordings, Film and Television
recording, Broadcasting and Published work. Any form of these will be marked with a symbol ()
which Identifies the individuals work as their property (Their belonging).
What are Stock Images/Video?
Stock Images are professionally taken photos of landmarks, Nature and
humanity, that have a copyright for legal ownership. The can be distributed to
consumers on royalty free basis and can be reused for specific commercial or
advertising campaigns. The Photographer has legal ownership of the image
and the commercial designer has limited usage (Due to copyright) of the
photo.
What is Royalty Free?
The definition of Royalty Free is: refers to the use of copyrighted
material/intellectual material without the need of payment/license fees for the
use of single volume sold or some time period of use/sales.
What is Creative Commons-Attribution?
Attribution- Attribution is self-regulating (Automatic) under the CC (creative
Commons Licence, this states that any video made by a specific Individual
that incorporates (Creative Commons Material) will show the source video
titles underneath the media player screen, by this the individual, you retain
copyright and other consumers can use or extract material from this work
(Publication) in constitution to the terms on the licence.
What is Creative Commons-Non-Commercial?
Non-Commercial: Is the form of Creative Commons in which it outlines that
any materials created by an Individual can be used remixed, tweaked or
built-upon your work Non-Commercially. It is crucial that any work that is
altered must acknowledge the Individual who created the first concept
and must be Non-Commercial, specifically they other (People) who use this
work they dont have to have a licence to specify that their derivative works on
the same terms.
What is Creative Commons-No Derivative Works?
No Derivative Works: Under Creative Commons License this specifies that,
that this license gives permission for a (Second Party) to redistribute this
works to non-commercial & commercial, but is must follow that if published
that it has not been tampered (changed) with and it must be complete as a
whole (Together/In full) and must give credit/acknowledge the publisher or
the original person who created the publication/video etc.
What is Creative Commons-Share Alike?
Share Alike- is where the license gives permission to Individuals to
redistribute, remix or tweak and build upon your work for commercial work,
as there is acknowledgement to the individual who created the product
(Magazine, Advert, TV Show, etc) and their license and new creations under
the Identical Terms this can be referred to as Copyleft , this means free
and accessible software licenses. All new commissions based on the
individual's original concept must have this licence, so any other sources will
have access. An example of a company that uses this predominantly
Wikipedia, In short it meaning is: Materials that would benefit from
incorporated content.
