1. Week of January 22nd, 2017

a. Responsibilities
i. This week we did an introduction to the company and
team members. I also had the opportunity to get
receive a tour of the office.
b. Comments/Reflections
i. I really enjoyed this first week. Learning more about
the company was truly beneficial.
2. Week of January 29th, 2017
a. Responsibilities
i. This week, I was tasked with a project to research
how the company can better their careers webpage
to engage with their public audience. I also assisted
my supervisor with resume review.
b. Comments/Reflections
i. It was very interesting and helpful to learn some of
the expectations that come with building and
perfecting your resume.
3. Week of February 5th, 2017
a. Responsibilities
i. This week, I organized and assisted my supervisor
with the upcoming fellowship applications. I also had
the opportunity to sit down with my other supervisor
for our interview assignment.
b. Comments/Reflections
i. I absolutely loved the opportunity to get to know my
supervisor more and learn about his own personal
journey to the position he is in now.
4. Week of February 12th, 2017
a. Responsibilities
 i. This week, my responsibilities included a research
project that focused on the company new initiative
within National Journal. I also had a meeting with one
of my fellow coworkers to update her on the progress
of the project.
b. Comments/Reflections
i. In doing my research, I found that my experience
from my current internship/ student employment has
greatly aided me in conducting various projects for
other entities.
5. Week of February 19th, 2017
a. Responsibilities
i. This week, I mainly conducted research for the
recruitment team to find valuable candidates for an
upcoming sales position.
b. Comments/Reflections
i. I had a chance to meet and converse with the
President of National Journal, Kevin Turnip and learn
more about his own personal journey especially as a
black professional within this industry.
6. Week of February 26nd, 2017
a. Responsibilities
i. This week, I developed research on how the company
can better their company culture as well as a few
administrative tasks.
b. Comments/Reflections
i. One exciting aspect of this week was celebrating
Employee Appreciation Day and eating a giant cookie
cake with all of my fellow coworkers.
7. Week of March 5th, 2017
a. Responsibilities
i. This week, I mainly focused on working with the
recruitment team and reviewing resumes.
b. Comments/Reflections
i. I also had the opportunity to build a LinkedIn profile
and learned more about the positive expectations for
a profile.
8. Week of March 12th, 2017
 a. Spring Break Vacation
9. Week of March 19th, 2017
a. Responsibilities
i. This week, I started working on an intense project with the team to
review resume and produce valuable candidates for a new position
opening up within the company.
b. Comments/Reflections
i. In doing resume review, I have been able to learn
about some very interesting positions that can make
up a media company.
10. Week of March 26th, 2017
a. Responsibilities
i. This week, I continued to work on reviewing resumes and sourcing
out potential candidates to fill the position.
b. Comments/Reflections
i. Resume review has definitely opened my eyes to a
variety of people.
11. Week of April 2nd, 2017
a. Responsibilities
i. In my final week, I continued to assist the team with
conducting resume review for a video position that is
in the DC area and New York.
b. Comments/Reflections
i. Although this was my last week, I greatly enjoyed my
time with this company and learned some much
through the process.
