Do you have a child in 4th-8th grade? If so, give your child a
chance to get involved with other Catholic youth in our par-
ish! RSVP to any event your child plans to attend at cbar-

listed above. Many of the events need volunteers for transportation. All volun-
teers must have a completed volunteer packet and drivers form on file with the
Archdiocese.
Friday, July 30: "Thank God It's Summer" Activity. Prepare to cool
off in the summer sun! We'll attend 9 o'clock Mass as a group, play
water games, and have pizza for lunch. Admission is $3 per
youth. Meet at 8:50 am. Pick up time is 12:45pm. RSVP by July
23rd.
Sunday, August 15: End of the School Beach party! Let's go the
Lake Lanier Water Park! Cost is $30. (If we have a group of 15 or
more, the cost is $21! Please sign up ASAP!) Tickets will be pur-
chased in advance. Money due August 8: No refunds, no excep-
tions. Meet at St. Andrews at 10:15 am. Pick up at the Church at 5
pm. Snacks and water will be provided. Each person must bring a
sack lunch, spending money if desired, sunscreen, towel, and appro-
priate swimwear (no skimpy swimsuits). Please be sure to attend
Mass before this event; we will not attend Mass as a group. We
may need drivers.
Beginning this fall, Champs (4th-5th) and Edge (6th-8th) will
meet monthly for Youth Nights in the Multi Purpose Room!

Fall Religious Education Registration
Registrations are being accepted for the Fall Religious Education
Classes. Classes will begin on Sunday, September 12, 2010 PK3 to
K at 10:30 am in Room 210. (This program is dependent on volunteer
teachers). Monday classes will begin on Monday, September 13,
2010 at 6:00 pm and will conclude at 7:15pm.
You must be a registered active parishioner before enrolling your
children in the Religious Education Programs.
Important Sacrament Information
Please mark your calendar with these important dates if your child is
preparing for the Sacraments of First Reconciliation and First Holy
Communion this year. You must be a registered, active parishioners
of St. Andrew Catholic Church in order to begin immediate prepara-

meetings and your child must attend the children’s gatheings. Please
fill out a religious education registration form and mark it “Sacraments
Only” at the top. I will then forward you the necessary Sacrament
Registration form.
ATTENTION: FIRST GRADE PARENTS
It is a tradition in many parishes that the parents of first grade chil-
dren help coordinate, set-up and serve food at the First Communion
reception held each year in the Parish Hall. This years Celebration of
First Holy Communion is scheduled for May 14, 2011 at 10:30
am. The reception will be immediately after Mass. If you can volun-
teer your time or can donate your time, talent, or food for this special
event, please contact Eileen DeJulio in the Religious Education De-

Life teen
Registration forms for high school teens are available in the foyer
outside of the teen room. Students in the 9th and 10th graders
must register to prepare for the Sacrament of Confirmation.
Our Stone Mountain Camping trip will be July 26-27th! All teens
are invited to join us!

ST. MARTIN DE PORRES HOMELESS
SHELTER: St. Martin de Porres will be going down-
town next Sunday, July 25th. If you are able to
donate any of the following, we would greatly appreciate
it: Sandwiches -- peanut butter and jelly or bologna and
cheese on white bread in individual sandwich bags. We
ask for 40 sandwiches (4 loaves of bread) from each volunteer, but
any amount would be appreciated. Fruit -- oranges and bananas are
preferred Candy — big bags of small candy bars are perfect. Pow-
dered lemonade mix - regular or pink. Also, we need plastic grocery
bags to place the meals in.
Please bring your donations to the parish hall before 11:30am. If
you need to bring your sandwiches before Sunday, you can put them
in the parish hall kitchen refrigerator and we'll find them.
Volunteers are also needed to help pack the lunches following
10:30 Mass. We do need someone to drive the lunches to the Union
Mission. If you are interested in driving this Sunday or anytime in
the future, please let them know. It's easy and rewarding and you
are usually back by 2:00pm.

TALLER PARA SERVIDORES DEL ALTAR: Te gustaría servir a tu Dios
ayudando al padre durante la misa? Jóvenes de cuarto grado en adelante que
hayan recibido la Primera Comunión pueden inscribirse en el vestíbulo. El taller
comienza a las 10:00am en el salón RCIA y termina en la iglesia a la 1:30pm el
sábado 17 de julio.

TALLER DE PADRES E HIJOS: Diseñado para padres solteros o parejas para

desarrollar una comunicación mejor con tus hijos y tu familia.

Convive de Bienvenida al Padre Carlos: El 18 de Julio después

de la misa de 7:30am desayuno ofrecido por los Caballeros de
Colon.
Convive: A las 8:00pm ofrecido por los Caballeros de Colon y el
Ministerio Hispano. Todos están cordialmente invitados. Salón
Familiar.
Convive de Reconocimiento: A la Sra. Marina Urrea por su
entrega total al desarrollo del Ministerio Hispano. Julio 25
después de la misa de 7:00pm. Centro Familiar.
Forma parte del voluntariado catequético. Durante el verano se
imparten clases de metodología y capacitación. Este año contamos con el
apoyo del departamento de CAPACITACIÓN de la Arquidiócesis que
nos impartirá un taller de Metodología especialmente para las futuras y
presentes catequistas de St. Andrew.
En la iglesia de St. Thomas Aquino puedes participar en los talleres de
capacitación seis viernes consecutivos, comenzando el 16 de julio y la
Iglesia de la Transfiguración ofrece un día de formación catequética el
sábado 14 de agosto. Hay muchas oportunidades para prepararte.
Comparte tu tiempo, tu fe y tu Amor por el Señor con nuestros niños.
Jóvenes mayores de 16 anos confirmados pueden aplicar. Inscripciones
en el Ministerio Hispano.

TALLER DE FORMACIÓN Y CERTIFICACIÓN: Seis viernes

consecutivos dos temas por noche Julio 16, 23, 30, 6,13, 20 en St. Tomas
de Aquino 6:00-9:30pm. Los mismos temas seis sábados consecutivos en
ANUNCION: Por favor le rogamos que por la seguridad Christ The King. 12:00-4:00pm
de sus hijos no permitan que jueguen encendiendo velitas
en la iglesia,. Los adultos deben de hacer un ofrecimiento TALLER FORMACIÓN DEL CATEQUISTA: El sábado 14 de Agosto
en la Iglesia de Transfiguración, Marietta, GA
para encender una velita.

Recordamos que durante el verano, nuestra vestimenta
debe de estar de acuerdo con el lugar que visitamos.
Cuando asistimos a misa, entramos en el Templo, en la
casa de Dios, por lo tanto nuestro vestir debe de reflejar
respeto y reverencia. Escotes, blusas de tiritas, ropa muy
ajustada o muy corta, pantalones cortos y playeras sin
mangas no son prendas apropiadas para asistir a misa.
Los certificados de bautismo deben ser recogidos el
cuarto miércoles de mes en el Ministerio Hispano.
Requisitos: Los padres deben de estar registrados
y asistiendo a la misa dominical por lo menos tres
meses antes del bautismo de sus hijos. Presentar
Acta de Nacimiento del niño/a. Padrinos casados
deben de traer copia del certificado de Matrimonio.
Solteros: mayores de 16 años de edad. Certificado
de Bautizo. Parejas en unión libre no califican para ser padrinos.
Pláticas de Preparación: Primer Martes del mes de 7:00pm –
9:00pm . Asistencia obligatoria de padres y padrinos. Ceremonia
Bautismal segundo Sábado de mes a las 11:00am.
