UPDATE FROM THE VESTRY

S
ince the vacancy for a part time Rector at Christ Church
was first published in January, just one candidate has

submitted an application for and indicated an interest in
serving our congregation. After much discussion, reference INSIDE
checking and thoughtful prayer, the members of the Vestry

unanimously determined that this particular candidate was not
the right fit for us. One factor that affects the sparsity of Easter Poem 2

For the part time Rector, the Vestry is offering a compensation

Spring is here what a relief This New Life is not limited

The Winter time is past To nature, don't you see
It means we can look forward We too can have a New Life
To the lighter nights at last If we come to Calvary

There is New Life all around us And lay our sins on Jesus
Wherever we cast our eye Who died for you and me
The bulbs are out what beauty He suffered death upon the cross
We behold as we walk by A spotless lamb was He

Their colours are so many We all can be his little lambs

White, yellow pink and blue And He our Shepherd, Friend
Purple, orange, red all shades Who never will forsake us
Giving gardens life anew On that we can depend

The little lambs are bleating So let's celebrate this Easter Day
Oh what a lovely sound The Lord is Risen indeed
There are baby chicks enjoying He has paid the price for all our sin
The new freedom they have found Halleluiah we've been freed.

Answering the Call

Earlier this year I started asking some of the children in the parish if they would like to be an
acolyte along with Jayden, CJ and Evie. Not only did Ian and Zach want to learn but when I
announced the first training session Drew and Nellie came too for a grand total of 7! Please
thank, support and encourage the children as they learn the duties of an acolyte and thank
the adults who mentor them (Sharon, Jane, Bryan, Sandra and John)!
