Comments from BSC Supervisor

Observation 1 - Christina had the student read aloud the paragraphs from their reading story. Her
teacher voice was wonderful! Her lesson plans reflected her lesson. Some students were distracted
during the story. Next, she reviewed their story/words. They have a test tomorrow.
Observation 2 - Christina had the students reviewing vocabulary cards. Next, she traded the cards with
the different groups in the room. She then reviewed the vocabulary with the entire class. Mrs. Suttle took
care of two of the students for her. She walked around the classroom when she reviewed the vocabulary,
which was great! Next, she covered comparative forms of adjectives on the Smart Board. The students
read the story next. She did not have lesson plans written for today.
Observation 3 - Christina gave the students a multiplication math test this morning. The test also
included word problems. She reminded the students to pull out the important information in the word
problems. She had the students use their My Own Work divider. She reminded the students to put their
name and number on the papers. The students followed her directions and completed their test quietly.

Reflection from Candidate

Observation 1 - I think I could do better with reading. The unit has gone smooth this week.
Observation 2 - I struggle with keeping the class quiet. It has been a learning experience with this group.
Observation 3 - The students have improved with their multiplications. They are also using the 9-hand
method that I showed them. The lower level students are using the partial product method and lattice
method.
