They said there is no difficult in construction if the contractor will follow the 3 major
regulation, first is the BP 344 ( Batasang Pambansa 344) Second is NBC or ( National Building
Code) last is the FCP or (Fire Code of the Philippines). By following the government rules and
regulation it makes the construction more functional & effective and with beauty. Follow the
proper concepts or method just like the standard, rule circulation, setback and etc.
A firm believer believes that if you treat your employees well - that is; trust them, offer
them what they want, and treat them with respect, you will receive exactly that back from them.
People radiate back exactly what they are given to them, so if you want a workforce who are
going to cooperate and work hard, you need to ensure that they enjoy their work. With mutual
understanding and with harmonic voice. Its not their attitude to yell their person because there
is a possibility that my laborer will fight back. Or they resign their work.
Time management is important for your personal life and career success. It teaches you
how to manage your time effectively and make the most of it. Time has a big factor during
construction because it will depend upon of god condition just like earthquake, typhoons or other
natural calamities or whether conditions. And also delayed delivery of materials supply.
Workplace safety is one of the most critical responsibilities of the employer. Several
research studies have reported close to 4 million nonfatal workplace injuries every year. By
providing a safe working environment and complying with safety laws and regulations, the
organization can promote a safer workplace and ensure the safety and well being of its
employees. The reason you should implement safety management systems is to ensure that when
a task is carried out in your workplace, every precaution has been taken to reduce the likelihood
of there being an incident that leaves someone injured or worse.

Factor
Productivity largely depends on technology. Technical factors are the most important
ones. These include proper location, layout and size of the plant and machinery, correct design of
machines and equipment, research and development, automation and computerization, etc. If the
organization uses the latest technology, then its productiveness will be high.
Productivity relies on the finance factors. Finance is the life-blood of modem business.
There should be a better control over both fixed capital and working capital. There should be
proper Financial Planning. Capital expenditure should be properly controlled. Both over and
under utilization of capital should be avoided. The management should see that they get proper
returns on the capital which is invested in the business. If the finance is managed properly the
productiveness of the organization will increase.
Productivity also depends on location factors such as Law and order situation,
infrastructure facilities, nearness to market, nearness to sources of raw-materials, skilled
workforce, etc.
The problems of improving the productivity in construction industry are the ff.
1. Government regulations
Various taxations
environment laws
Registrations
Licensing
3. Union rules
4. Management limitations
Changing environment,
Human limitations
Unskilled employees
Employee attitudes
But despite of all that problem there still we can do to improve it. First, Analyzing the
entire construction process in detail, a construction company should analyze each phase of its
process to determine what the barriers are to improving productivity. It should begin by
measuring key factors and setting benchmarks and goals for improvement. Second, do better
planning, there will never be a magic solution that eliminates all work changes, but better
planning will mitigate the impact of work changes and also eliminate the unnecessary waits that
result from imprecise planning. Third, train your supervisors and the crew, an important key to
improving productivity is to train the crew especially construction supervisors, whose knowledge
and skills can make or break a project in sound management principles and techniques.
Fourth, Employ new technologies, New technologies such as scheduling software and
more efficient equipment can yield an immediate return on investment in increased productivity.
In implementing new technology, construction companies should learn from the mistakes made
in other industries. Lastly, communicate that increasing productivity is everyone's job, no one
knows how to do a job better than the person doing it. A construction company should therefore
enlist all of its workers in the search for greater productivity. The company should communicate
explicitly that suggestions are welcomed and should consider some type of reward system for
suggestions that increase productivity. One effect of involving the workers in improving
productivity is that they will come to look on the goal as making progress, not finding blame.
This brief review of how to improve productivity may make the task of improvement
seem daunting to the average general contracting company. Typically, construction companies
enlist construction productivity consultants to help them improve. The consultant has a wealth of
experience in the construction industry to draw upon in addressing the specific needs of the
company, as well as a methodology for identifying and addressing the barriers to increased
productivity. The consultant understands both the best industry practices and the current
construction technologies that can improve productivity. Perhaps most important, the consultant
can provide the supervisor and crew with the training that will yield the greatest productivity
improvements.
