Ideas for how the 3rd Grade: You could use this tool when they are learning phonetics. The
tool can be used teacher can go it and create a base map with all of the phonetic vowel
in PK-12 sounds and the students can each go in and create one popple giving a
word example using the phonetic vowel sound.
6th Grade: Students could use popple to use as a mapping tool when
deciding on plot of stories, or identifying the main idea, supporting
details, and conflict of the story.
High school: Can be used in a history class and used as a time line of
historic events. Or used as a mapping tool to put in facts about a certain
president.
Positives and Positives (4): 1. It is fairly easy to use and is simple enough for all ages to
challenges of enjoy. 2. It is free up to 10 popplets, but is only $3 a month for unlimited

and use as examples if you needed too that other people have made. 4.

for unlimited, it does cost more for a yearly subscription. 2. Only one
user is allowed at a time. 3. Since it is a mapping tool, it may not be
suitable for every topic.

Now select and image that fits your topic or story.
Clicking the lightning bolt on the picture will allow you to make it into a
longform book, picture book, or a poem.
After selecting which you want to make, you can add words and pictures
to help present your story.
Finally, publish your book so others can view it.
It picture book options allows you to create different pages with words
and pictures, while the poem option allows you to have one picture with
the options of dragging and dropping words.
In order to make this collaborative, you must click the options button
and then click invite collaborator
Ideas for how the SOL 2.14- Allows student to be more creative and imaginative. Get in
tool can be used groups and create a story with a general topic. You can prewrite, rough
in PK-12 draft, and work together with Storybird. If laptops are available at the
school, they can each log on to their own account to work on the story,
but continue sitting in groups to discuss among their peers about what
they are doing as they create.
SOL 4.7- Have students create a poem with no limits. They can use single
images, as long as everything is related to the topic given. For this
activity, the collaboration comes into play with peer reviewing the poem.
They will invite one collaborator and the collaborator will edit and give
suggestions on how to correct it.
SOL DE. 1 (f) - Students will use Storybird to create a scenario of what
can go wrong when driving improperly on the road. Or they can create
Storybird to show what to do if they witness a crash scene. It should be
detailed and done with a partner. After, it should be presented to the
class.
Positives and Positives: 1. This Web 2.0 has different levels of expression

the work is not overlapping. 3. You cannot search for pictures to
add to your story while working on the story, and you can only
pick from the options they have pre-selected for you.

Ideas for how the SOL 2.3 Students can create an organized map with popplet and create

in PK-12 in groups to decide on what to put in the meals.
