Dear Desirae Scanlan,

As a Health Science student, I had the opportunity of working alongside a variety of individuals
for group projects, which enabled me to develop interpersonal skills. In addition, being an active
member in student associations and clubs has allowed me to gain experience in working in
different environments and situations.

The courses I have taken at California State University, Long Beach molded me to a more
diligent and cooperative person. Through these experiences, I learned proactive, organization,
and collaborative skills. I organize myself to effectively and efficiently finish my tasks in a
timely manner, and coordinate with my group members to ensure the project is completed in an
adequate time.

I was able to apply my skills when I interned for the Boys and Girls Clubs of Garden Grove at
Morningside Elementary. At that site, I assisted staff in managing his and her classes, and help
staff maintain the five core areas of the Boys and Girls Clubs with the members.

I am an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual who is always eager to learn new skills in
order to enhance my abilities, and I will contribute my skills, abilities, and experience as a
volunteer to become an asset for the Boys and Girls Clubs of Garden Grove.
