I. OBJECTIVE
At the end of the lesson, Grade 11 learners are expected to:
1. Demonstrate effectively nonverbal communication through a silent
advertisement.

A. Content Standard:
The learner understands the nature and elements of oral communication
in context.
B. Performance Standard:
The learner designs and performs controlled and uncontrolled oral
communication activities based on context.

B. Motivation
Class, we are going to have an activity
which you will surely enjoy. This is
called Charade. Let me divide you in
two groups. You will participate in a
game wherein concepts are to be acted
out by representatives without using
words or even sign language and their
respective groups will guess the
concept/s. You are only given fifteen Yes, Maam!
(15) seconds to identify the word.

C. Lesson Proper
Last time class you have learned about
verbal communication. Today lets
discuss nonverbal communication and
know its types.
E. Application
In small groups, I want you to deliver
effectively the dramatic lines that you
will randomly pick. Make use of
appropriate eye contact, gestures, facial
expressions, body language, etc. in this
activity.

Watch an episode of the animated cartoon Larva or Mr. Bean. In a half sheet
of paper, write a 2-paragraph analysis that discusses how nonverbal
communication is evident in the cartoon.
