Grade and Topic: 2nd grade, English Language Arts Length of Lesson: 45 minutes, 2 day
LESSON OBJECTIVE:
Given a matching activity students must identify adjectives and adverbs. With a 8 out of 10 rubrics.
Given a computer to a group of 5 students, they must make a chart using MS word, and properly identify an
adjective and adverb.
Each Student will identify adjectives and adverbs, and choose between them depending on what is to
be modified. Each student will practice identifying adjectives using the link https://www.ixl.com/ela/grade-

STANDARDS ADDRESSED:
CCSS.ELA-Literacy.L.2.1.e: Use adjectives and adverbs, and choose between them depending on
what is to be modified.
ISTE standard 1B, 2D, 3B, 6A.

Technology will be integrated so students can show how they can organize their learning using a table.
Closure: Ask students to stop where they are at, and we will continue with links tomorrow, and make a MS
word table.
Introduction: Begin by having students break down into the same groups as yesterday. Go to same computers,
go back to links from yesterday and start activity.
Have students proceed to links and start activity follow links and start activity
Let students know they have 15 mins to complete complete activity to their best in 15 mins
Give instructions on how to insert/label chart Insert table and label charts
Give instructions on what goes in chart complete chart listing adverbs and adjectives
Closure: Students will print out charts and turn them in at the front of the room, with all students names at top.
ASSESSMENT EVIDENCE:
Students list/identify adjectives and adverbs.
Students demonstrated their knowledge by clearly listing adjectives and adverbs. Students will continue with lesson plan
individually in other lesson plans.
MODIFICATIONS:
Students who did not master the lesson plan will have one on one time with me to master adjectives and adverbs.
Students who are ready for enrichment activities will be given more advanced activities to take home and
practice.
