-IC INFORMATION-
5. Character Name: Jerid (Briggs)
6. Character Species: Human
7. Character Personality: There are your typical military grunts, yelling "Hoora
h!" at every opportunity and talking about getting to the fight. Jerid, while a
ppreciating the sentiment, is not one of those grunts anymore. Jerid is a man w
ho knows what to do and how to do it in the most efficient way possible, but tak
es no extra pride in his work. If anything he's simply satisfied that he is ski
lled enough to get the job done the first time because needing to go in a second
time is only going to lead to a teammates death. He is casual in almost every
regard except for doing his job, in which his focus and awareness are respectful
ly high. He is, gratefully, very tolerant of Pokemorphs and treats all of them
like people: be polite and helpful until they shoot at you, then shoot back.
8. Character Background: Former Lieutenant Commander Jerid Briggs of the Kanto N
avy, Identification Number B495E990T321, was not born in the military tradition
at all. First son of Tyler and Maggie Briggs of five he was living in the comfo
rt of lower-upperclass life. His father inherited and responsibly managed a fam
ily business, within which a modest fortune was devised. Growing up with most e
verything one could want, however, left Jerid with a rather borish and uninteres
ting childhood. When the boy went on a recreational cruise to Cinnabar Island a
nd first experienced the sea, however, a spark flicked alive within him--a spark
that was nearly snuffed out when he fell overboard and had to be rescued by the
ship's crew.
When one would normally be pushed away from the dangers of such an event
, the lack of anything else great in his life aroused a nearly unhealthy fascina
tion with the sea and led Jerid to push on to dream of adventuring across the oc
ean in his own ship. While this would be fine and dandy for a normal child, Tyl
er had plans for his eldest son to inherit and run the family company and, durin
g the growing years, tolerated this fascination with decreasing patience. Altho
ugh a rebellious streak grew within him that began to interfere with his home li
fe it was never enough to seriously dampen the schoolwork of the boy. At a rema
rkably young age Jerid seemed to understood that he had to do well in his academ
ics and work ethic if he wanted to live his dream of sailing the seas. In every
other respect, however, Jerid grew up like every other eldest brother in a regu
larly normal family: being a role model and making the mistakes that others woul
d learn from.
Upon becoming eighteen, however, the breaking point was reached. Tyler
and Jerid, who had long disagreed upon the course of the youth's life, reached a
n impasse leading towards a violent (though nonphysical) argument. The argument
was never resolved, sadly, as Jerid slipped out and left his home. His first d
estination, almost unsurprisingly, was a recruiting office for the Kanto Navy.
While he knew he'd never get to see his family again he knew he had to fulfill h
is desire to cross the ocean. Little did he know, however, that it'd come with
a price.
Jerid's efforts in Basic Training were exemplary and noticed as such by
his instructors and base commanders. Instead of assigning Jerid to a ship the N
avy enlisted him into Special Response Team training (including basic sniper tra
ining), pushing his body and mind to its limits to become a very capable soldier
and eventually officer. As there was relative peace in the world at the time,
however, most of Jerid's operations throughout the years consisted of domestic o
perations against Rocket hideouts, which in turn lead to operations in tracking
and hunting down rogue Pokemorphs. For obvious reasons the details were classif
ied, though Jerid himself began to show weariness after every mission. His frie
nds in other assignments suspected (correctly), but never confirmed, that he him
self put down several Morphs. After several years of these assignments Jerid wa
s about to put in for a resignation of his commission when he was called into ac
tive duty for the Pokemorph Island Blockade.
Assigned to the K.S.S. Trident as the Navy's Special Response Unit Comma
nder, Jerid was given command over thirty-six men divided into four-man squads f
or the sole purpose of high-risk encounters with the Pokemorphs. While the bulk
of the assignment was coordination and delegation of legwork Jerid did see some
action on the Island himself. While on patrol one of Jerid's squads fell under
fire from a street gang, forcing Jerid to begin force extraction procedures. T
aking two squads with him Jerid positioned one of them in a flanking position on
the third floor of a nearby building, bringing the other squad from an oblique
angle to grab the wounded squad and extract with suppressive fire. Though there
were no fatalities among Jerid's subordinates three of the four men suffered bu
rns and heavy lacerations forcing them into medical absence. Just one day later
the cataclysm forced the Trident and the rest of the Kanto Navy to withdraw and
end the blockade.
In the period following the withdrawal of both the Army and Navy Jerid w
as reassigned to instruction at the Naval Academy, specializing in advanced Mili
tary Police training for Military SWAT teams. Jerid seemed content with this as
signment, which would turn out to be short-lived. While Team Rocket had always
been a concern for the Kanto military, the reports of Pokemorph pirates raiding
the seas became of special concern. The Kanto Navy, while acknowledging that a
small fleet could be a sufficient deterrent, would not deploy any valuable asset
s against the Morphs. Instead, they opted to send in a handpicked squad of spec
ially-trained soldiers to directly and indirectly assist the local government in
combating the rising piracy.
The names, number, and orders of the other men were never revealed, thou
gh Jerid himself was one of the men assigned to the task. His orders were to jo
in with the Pokemorph Intelligence Agency and operate semi-openly and actively a
gainst the pirates, providing education, training, and direct combat support. H
is experiences as a Naval Officer, SRT leader and member, and veteran Morph trac
ker would certainly prove invaluable in this regard, which is how Jerid came to
be on the Island he had once before fought on.
9. Character Description: Jerid is a handsome man with pronounced features on hi
s face molded in a fashion that may once have been identical to a military poste
r image: clean shaven, almost too-perfect teeth, sharp and clear blue eyes, and
a straight nose to compliment shallow ears. His black hair, once buzz-cut short
, has grown enough to be manageable without it becoming shaggy or hippy-like. H
is voice is an upper-level bass that speaks unaccented (American) English. His
body is just as poster-imaged as his face is: standing over six feet tall, being
appropriately broad, but most importantly being physically fit to the naked eye
. When exposed, the muscles in his arms, chest, and legs are healthily pronounc
ed and almost worthy of being modeled, though several subtle scars across his ar
ms, alongside one glaring one in his right shoulder, would make such a feat impo
ssible.

NOTES:
-If it is possible and realistic, I wish for Jerid to be applied as an Arbiter w

-If this application is accepted I would like to formally request that Elleen be
purged from Pokemorph MUSH altogether.
