Observation Notes: Kyle Quina: 4/6/17

Greeted class appropriately and started class in a timely manner

Described Doppler Effect and its effects on light and sound; related to ambulance/van as well as big bang
and red shift
Used video, simulation, boardverbal and non-verbal representations
Solicited student opinions and used specific praise for correct assertions
Kyle seemed more comfortable and able to adapt than in previous observations
Engaged students on a personal and meaningful level
Allowed Carlos/Kristina/Will to tune out
Described differences based on frame of reference
Overall planning seems improved, and a more clear arc for curriculum is evident, but much more work
and familiarity would be helpful
Interesting chem hook, but wheres the tie-in
Confidence is improved, but more is still requisite
Still losing students as class wears on and no climax to the story approachesmore enthusiasm!
Stoichlisting steps in order might help; or making the students list them
*too much direct delivery rather than elicit and correct/extend
