Pre-assessment of current knowledge: The students have engaged in three lessons on the sense of sound over the course of the investigation. Before starting
the lesson, the teacher will reflect on prior lessons to remind the students of what they have done so far.

Procedural steps:

The student will be able to
describe how the different balloons
feel after they explore them with
their sense of touch.
The student will be able to place
each balloon on the corresponding
picture to what they believe is
inside each balloon.
The teacher will take pictures to show that the students
were able to use their sense of touch to explore the feeling
of the balloons and then place them on the corresponding
picture. The teacher will also take note of which students
were able to use appropriate description words when
exploring the balloons.
Program Monitoring: (How will you aggregate or compile
your evidence into a class or group view?)
The teacher will create a checklist that contains the names
of each of the students present for the lesson and will check
off which students participated in the exploring of the
balloons. The checklist will also contain which students
were able to correctly place the balloons on their
corresponding picture after using their sense of touch to
feel what is inside. This will give the teacher an

Adult Roles:
The role of the adult is to come prepared with the necessary
materials. The adult is also responsible for guiding the
students through the lesson and providing instruction. The
teacher also should document the descriptive words the
students use when exploring the different balloons.

Reflection: (What have you learned about your students? How will this inform future instruction?)

After implementing this lesson, I have learned how much my students like to engage in activities that allow them to make predictions. The students found the
lesson to be very exciting and they enjoyed feeling the different balloons and trying to guess what each balloon contained. I was pleased to hear the students
using description words that I had introduced them to during my first lesson. When I opened the lesson I recalled past lessons that we had done and this allowed
them to call on prior knowledge and be able to participate in this lesson with a good foundation of knowledge. At one point during the lesson, there was one
student who tried to open up one of the balloons to see what was inside because he was so intrigued by the feeling of it. This caused the other students to
become distracted and I had to reiterate the point of keeping the balloons closed and simply using the sense of touch. In the future, I may add more objects to put
in more balloons because the students were able to explore them in a relatively quick amount of time and I would like to extend the lesson further. In the future I
may also have the students place the balloons on a corresponding paper that has a descriptive word written on it instead of a picture. This will not be able to be
done until the students have more reading skills but I feel that it could be a good way to add reading skills into the lesson. Overall, I believe this lesson went really
well and the students were able to learn more about exploring with their sense of touch. they also had fun with it and wanted to explore more balloons which
showed me that they were engaged and interested in the lesson.
